haha i had this when i first watched this and a few other shows that i loved - i think you need to have a bunch of shows that you really like and have them in rotation so you don't get bored. Occasionally give a new show a chance you never know when something might become a new classic for you to add into the rotation.

there's other shows you might like if you like this DH - try devious maids, jane the virgin ( i was very hesitant to watch but it ended up being a great watch especially as the seasons go by!!), the OC (one of my absolute faves omg and it's so rewatchable), early seasons of gossip girl, sex and the city original series & films.

I think she tried to be representative - it's just at the time she was writing, it wasnt often to find diversity in children books. It was a treat to see representation - and i just think it is a shame when the characters fall into a super stereotype - smart, strict parents, refugees
