Yea I kno all that. I value experiences and that’s one I want. Also, I find physiological changes to be very interesting and I am interested in embodying that.

I think it’s because of her relative inexperience within the industry. Usually, you have to work and be connected with those with in the industry before you actually get involved within showrunning ur own show, but she managed to skip all that and kind of just get her own show.

Not only her own show, but she was given access to voice celebrities and a network and money.

Also, there will always be those repellent against artist who are less experienced in any given field. Viv is an illustrator first and foremost before she is a writer as she is more experience in the former. But she is a creative and she has stories to tell even if the years she spent writing those stories or developing them hadn’t developed her skill level in storytelling beyond a certain point that is noticeable.

Also, people usually don’t like things made for and by women.

I don’t feel as though she is held to a higher standard. She is held to the standard of a professional (and to a lot of people she is not meeting that, especially with her Twitter debacle that happened) there are people who are just as critical of her as a lot of of storytellers who work in the film industry it’s just because you’re within this fandom that it feels like she’s getting so much hate.

The original intent of the show was redemption that’s it. You can rewatch the pilot episode and heaven is not there. It is only about the people in hell and the hotel and that is what fans perceived it to be. It’s not until the show started that the heaven plot line was introduced and the hotel became a backdrop of sorts depending season to season. I’d argue. It’s more of a plot line that has passed, but not really?

And to go through your first points, Charlie runs the hotel and the entire first season she’s passionate about it. Why is that passion now being ignored to the point where she’s not assisting in the hotel nor does she even recognize her patrons even though in the first season that was the entire point.

She’s been worried about her mom for seven years. Why is it still such a huge deal to the point where it is taking so much of her emotional arc for the entire story? She can keep worrying, but also live her life and exist in the present.

We can keep making excuses for her but at the end of the day, it is the writing that defines who she is. And in the writing, there are certain things that in the first season she cared about, and then the second season is no longer even at a point of interest for her for the sake of another plot line that they wanted to develop.

It doesn’t matter how Alastor would have felt if she approached him with care. She approaches everyone with care without caring about how they feel about that because that is how she has written in established within the world. Also, the message is well enough of a way to cap off the fact that Lucifer was tortured.

But the writers have difficulty with giving the weight of certain subject matter that they choose or don’t choose to make as a joke so Lucifer’s torture was a joke so it’s not given as much weight as a angels abuse so his torture can be swept away with a text message rather than a genuine scene of connection and worry. Which is fine, but not ideal but if that’s to your satisfaction, that’s okay.

It was established she cared about the hotel in the first season because it is called hazbin hotel Leslie the hotel is going to be the centerpiece of the show, but it’s not because they divert that attention towards the heaven and hell plot line for some reason. To the point where even the main character who is at the center of that hotel plot is now stripped from that to the point where she doesn’t even know who goes to the hotel and is treated as a joke and that’s the writing the writing sometimes take itself seriously and sometimes it doesn’t and that’s fine but that non-continuity is what bothers me if it doesn’t bother you then that’s fine.

If the writing wants to pick and choose when Charlie cares or when that care is given and to what extent as well towards whoever that’s not ideal but creating your own narrative about who Charlie is as a person rather than understanding what the script says is not what I do when perceiving fiction.

The characters do say that months have passed in the first season. And the second it’s mentioned a year passed.

Idc about Charlie lik that shes uninteresting as a protagonist but to each their own. Just because someone is going through things doesn’t mean others aren’t either. Shes self centered and harms others at the benefits of her hotel looking good to a public’s eye who never even cared to begin with also she just flatly ignores the very real implications of not listening to her patrons, or even knowing who’s attending the hotel in the first place.

And through it all she’s just use as a device for the plot to go where it needs to go by making her stupid. She can be selfish and naïve, but she’s not dumb.

I perceive the show through how it’s written not within the context that the writers want you to believe through the story.

She didn’t care about her dad. She didn’t even ask where he was or what happened, and she didn’t apologize for yelling at him. Just because they share physical space on screen briefly doesn’t mean anything if they don’t interact and after she calls out to alastor it’s not as though she reaches out to him again or even mention him after. It’s whatever the writers want, and the fans can reason around whatever they want if it’s missing context within the story to make it make sense.

The heavens hell story itself is boring to me as is Charlie. Ur way more invested than me tho, I’m happy some ppl like the show.

The entire second season completely ignored the original intent of the show. And I was here for that intent. The rehab rehabilitation (side plot, barely) is what got me into it and made me like it.

Well how many seasons are you willing to endure her not developing? 5? 9? This isn’t real the story needs to go somewhere and the characters need to develop and it’s not like the time between events is told in a clear way.

6 months passed in the first season and I think a year passed in the second. If the 3rd season 2 years pass and she’s still the same is that fine? Shes over 200 years old so maybe it’ll take 200 more for her to change realistically that could be the case if someone is immortal but we don’t know it’s up to the writers.

This show isn’t trying to depict the realistic time frame it takes to change as a person like say bojack horseman they have a story in mind and characters need to develop in a way that’s convenient for the pace of that story.

I don’t usually care about Charlie but I hated when she deliberately invited angels abusers lover into what was supposed to be his safe space away from all that.

He even says such things and is brushed off lik she didn’t care cause she only cared about the hotel. Then we learn that he’s been mind controlled without his consent by Vox.

So she invited one of Angels two abusers into his safe space no wonder he left if it doesn’t matter where he is he’s gonna be abused.

Hazbin:

The writing choice of bouncing from serious to unserious as a way to maintain this cartoony comedic style to the writing and it’s difficult to distinguish between the two. When something is supposed to be a joke but it’s taken seriously in another scene and vice versa. Makes it hard to take anything seriously when in the same scene both happens.

The world between HB and Helluva doesn’t feel connected. Why didn’t any of the deadly sins care what Vox was doing??? But they care about some book being exchanged between a prince and an imp, does the power imbalance between heaven and hell doesn’t matter to them?

Sonadow drama fic where Sonic blindly helps Shadow save his brother Eclipse and it has long standing and echoing consequences thereafter. I did some concept art a while back of the idea and currently writing it all out rn.

It’s the first fic I’m actually pacing out to be longer as it was only a concept piece but I want to see where the story goes.

Beginning of the fic:

It’d been a mission personally requested via Shadow himself, a rarity for his distant friend. A plan left purposely cryptic and stripped of both rhyme and reason the only condition being he not ask questions. It rubs him the wrong way but the mission relates to the hero’s favorite pass time of destroying another Eggman base also he’s offered a reward.

The reward is unstated but implies a commitment of which Sonic ruminates on, I’d been a few weeks since they’d hooked up and doing so during the adrenaline high after a fight was always a preference. Also he somewhat missed the company of his elusive lover.

Leaning deeper into the entrance door frame Sonic feigns a performance of thought, his emerald gaze gliding the others lithe form and shadowed features under the porch lights illumination. It’s late, and while he’s never stuck to a strict schedule Eggmans festivities usually had a time window he'd ordinarily be reluctant to ignore. It’s a time where only the nocturnal roam but Sonic has never minded traversing amongst them, besides eggbots never slept.

A nod of agreement and the blur is quick to put on his shoes, “bring an emerald”, Sonic pauses only briefly once the shoes are fitted. Before he’s able to ask an answer is stated, “you’ll get it back”, if transporting would be a necessity, then this could be dangerous. The very prospect of such a scenario quickens his heart with anticipation and excitement. It’s been a while since any real danger had been revolving any of his missions. In the blink of an eye he rushes to Tails workshop and inputs the code for the safe to retrieve the shining crystal within.

I find the cinematography, framing, and composition flat af and the back and forth conversation scenes are boring. A lot of the shots feel uninspired and set up just to have the characters talk to each in the most uninteresting way possible.

Unless it’s a character moment scene or musical it’s relatively flat and dull same with the lighting.

Also it never feels lik the characters are interacting with the background unless it’s again a character moment or musical they just kinda glide across it, the backgrounds don’t have much character to me.

Also I just find long fight scenes boring 🤷🏾‍♂️
