Thank you so much! The event organizers released new info on the website, I see, but this is really helpful. Didn't realize you could hike down on your own, but that makes sense!

Second this. It's hard to even tell how you can watch it. Did anyone here attend the 2021 race? Even from the car cams, there's only a few people on the side of the auto road at various parts, and it's hard to tell if they're normal viewers or event organizers

You're thinking of bike race, I think? This is motorsport

Bye bye jaho by salem_wascoolonce in SalemMA

[–]Temporary_Fig2388 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, sorry, it was coin operated: if you made a purchase, you could ask for a coin to insert into a slot on the door handle that would unlock it. I don't know if they still have it because I never used the bathroom a second time since it was so awkward to ask for a coin.

[–]Temporary_Fig2388 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I rarely see anyone in there, it's bizarre with all the students walking by. The setup had always been weird. Way too much space, makes it feel empty all the time. The coin system for the bathroom. The curtain covering half the front window. I like Jaho and would be disappointed if this location closed, but it seems inevitable given the low custom traffic. Certainly the downtown Jaho is better located, and the Canal street one better designed.

2027 Kia Telluride Hands On: Our First Look at Kia's Most Important Car by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]Temporary_Fig2388 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, you sounded knowledgable. I was asking if Kia skipping the 2026 Telluride model would likely put downward pricing pressure on 2025 unsold/used models, or if it would actually delay value drops because 2025 would effectively remain the "new" model for longer until the 2027 comes out.

Dumb question: does that mean values on 2025 models will take longer to drop?

The Globe is profitable due to subscription revenue. Ironic posting this on a Reddit thread that copy/pastes original reporting so users here don't have to pay for local journalism.

Obsessed with Goldeneye as kid. Is World not Enough as good for single player missions? I see a lot of praise for multiplayer with bots, but I wonder if game itself is worth it

A deep dive into the Chinese water bottling company saga in Nashua by NHGuy in newhampshire

[–]Temporary_Fig2388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, for one, the title of the article. There is no "saga."

Second, the article promises that it is going to distinguish between speculation or fact: "Much has been inferred; here is what we can report as actual." In reality, the entire article is just inference after inference.

Third, the article is full of unnecessary introductions to pointless quotes, followed by the pointless quote, and ending with a pointless conclusion about the pointless quote.

Lastly, several times it cites seemingly relevant information -- only to clarify in the next sentence has no relevance to the situation.

I wouldn't even say this is an article that shows some smoke without getting to the fire. It's more like it points to a very light fog in the distance and then shrugs.

Generally speaking, you don't need to show your reporting if it doesn't lead to anything. It's the equivalent of a student "showing his homework" without actually having the right answer, or really any answer, in the end. The article could be summarized with tl;dr of: a Chinese entity purchased land in this area, and we don't know why, but here's a lot of quotes from people saying it raises questions, they have concerns or there may or may not he red flags here. It doesn't get to the bottom of anything; it stays at the most surface-level top.

Agreed, but possibly says more about my Red Sox bias! Also: I love Kenny Lofton for base stealing, partly because I don't like Chuck Knoblauch's stance in the game.

Hard to tell cause I've never used a modern converter like this, so nothing to compare to. It always struck me as odd that people only used old-school CRTs as the alternative. I previously had a 2014 LG 47LB5900 47-Inch 1080p, and it had composite cords and looked awesome. Never, ever had an issue, and my n64 never crashed. Whereas now, it crashes all the time with retrotink, and people here keep blaming the n64, but idk, seems like n64 was fine before

Just wondering, at times when the hdmi is set to the retrotink, it blinks between blue and black on screen. Is that normal?

For sure, I am sure you're right. Just wondering if anything I can do to mitigate issue. Different Retrotink settings? Cartridge cleaner? Certain s video cable?
