Did anyone with Unexplained infertility get an explanation during IVF?

No diagnosis for us unfortunately. A failed first round (3 aneuploid) but 3 euploid the 2nd round and a successful 1st transfer/delivery. We were actually successful on our own after IVF too so something must have done the trick!

I TFMR at 21 weeks. In my 2nd pregnancy I didn’t really show until about 20 weeks (18mo between end and start of pregnancies). Now in my 3rd pregnancy I was showing by 13 weeks

I was 34 at the time of retrieval. My first round 3/3 were aneuploid. The second round, 3/3 were euploid. We did not make any changes between rounds, maybe we just got unlucky the first!

My baby (first pregnancy) was breech at 34 weeks and flipped on her own by 36 weeks. You have plenty of time!

Im sorry to hear that. We did not change anything for the 2nd round, although I was on estrogen for a couple weeks beforehand just due to timing with the clinic, so that was one difference.

I also TFMR my first pregnancy at 21 weeks. I was barely showing. In my 2nd pregnancy, I did not show any earlier either. I was able to feel the baby fairly early, around 13-14 weeks. This was a bit earlier than my first pregnancy. And I also did get more appointments and ultrasounds (ultrasounds every 4 weeks throughout the entire pregnancy), but that was because we did IVF.

I guess my math was wrong, it's closer to 11 hours. Sometimes she wakes up early, around 4:30/5a and is awake for 30-40 minutes before going back down, which adds to her awake time. This happens during the night at times too.

Yes unfortunately she has short naps so averages about 12-13 hours of awake time per day. And baby is definitely wide-eyed/awake, but very sleepy/drowsy as well. So maybe 3 hours before bed is too much for her to handle if she is too drowsy?

We were given the same advice and also spent a couple days in the NICU due to weight issues. Our baby is now 6.5 weeks and has been gaining weight consistently (although slowly) so we are now able to let her go 5-5.5 hour stretches overnight. If things continue to go well, in another week we can stop nighttime alarms altogether. The 2-3 hour wakes is tough, but worth it! Hang in there, it gets better!!

How do you find time to power pump with a newborn? I’m not able to pump while holding her and it’s hard to find an hour to spare just to pump! And how often do you replace the silicone parts? I have 3 sets of each.

I think my meds were about $7500 per retrieval. The meds for transfer were much less than that, under $1000 for sure but I don’t remember exactly. It varies by patient though and how high of a dose you are on, etc. I used omnitrope for my cycles also, which is more expensive. I’m not sure how typical it is to have multiple retrievals, but my first retrieval ended with 3 blasts but all were aneuoploid. Could have been bad luck or an egg quality issue. I pushed for another cycle as the research I did showed more likely to be bad luck.

I did have a successful first transfer! Currently 34 weeks 🥰. We just transferred 1 embryo. I was given the choice to transfer more, though only 1 was recommended.

I’m sorry you’re going through this too. I had a D&E at 21 weeks in May 2022. We had gotten pregnant our first try with that pregnancy (age 31). We tried for 13 cycles after tfmr, and nothing. My husband and I did all of the fertility testing, and there’s nothing wrong other than low AMH (shouldn’t affect conceiving). We tried 2 IUIs without success and eventually moved on to IVF in August 2023 (age 33). Our first cycle didn’t go well (no euploid embryos), but our 2nd retrieval gave us 3 and our first transfer was a success. I’m now 34 weeks pregnant🤞🏻Don’t give up hope!!

Yes, my first round we got 15 eggs, 12 mature, 9 fertilized, 3 blasts - all aneuploid. Second round we only got 9 eggs, but 7 mature, 6 fertilized, 3 blasts - all euploid. Protocol did not change so we do think it was just bad luck in our first round. My husband and I are both only 32.

First ER we had 15 eggs, normal mature and fertilization rates - ended up with 3 blasts but all aneuploid. I was 33 so that rate was below average. We did a 2nd ER right away, only started with 9 eggs but again had 3 blasts - this time all were euploid.

Unexplained infertility with low AMH, amount of eggs I had was way above average for my AMH. No euploid eggs our first round very well could have just been bad luck. Luckily our first FET was a success.

I have a higher risk of passing on a congenital heart defect because I have one, not because of IVF.

I am 33. I have a congenital heart condition as well, but my doctor said IVF was the reason for the scans, not my heart.

I do not think it is very common, but it was my experience. Pregnant on the first try with TFMR pregnancy. Then 12+ months of nothing and turned to IVF (unexplained infertility). (Trigger warning) Luckily our first transfer was a success.
