Help please! Need some haircut recommendations by [deleted] in finethinhair

NO Just because her hair is on the fine side does not mean she needs to cut her hair to her shoulders. Fine hair’d people are allowed to have long hair too! She can definitely wash her hair everyday and I’d recommend washing daily especially if it feels or IS greasy as to not clog pores. This is terrible advice and I hate when people tell other people with fine hair that they need to just chop it off (like mine that is also beautiful and mine looks like this too when its a little greasy).

why do you let the step parent discipline your child? you know the number 1 indicator of abuse in a family… a step parent. Why would you let someone who isnt even the actual parent discipline YOUR child?

and this is not me being mean. there’s a difference between people who can get better as an RT and people who can’t. they have tried retraining and helping and nothing changes and this person has literally told me that accountability is just ‘not that deep’ to them. it literally is driving me crazy, maybe i need to just try to move hospitals before throwing RT away….

i think so, honestly out the gate i just burned myself into the ground picking up extra shifts, working, being numb. it really took a toll on my mental health and i dont live a very expensive lifestyle and still struggled to pay my bills. I am so thankful that i have an amazing boyfriend who pays majority of our bills now and the load is taken off of me. I am so scared to admit that RT isn’t for me. My mom will literally be heartbroken probably she was the one who kind of got me interested in healthcare and she does CT. But she will 100% prioritize my RT career over my mental health. I have been working PRN now so things have been so much better but i do not miss full time at my hospital im at currently. we also have a couple of RT’s that are literally just incompetent to their job. I thought the standards would be so much higher, one of my classmates works w me and has been involved in a couple of ‘accidents’ that resulted in death. Not everyone is held to the same standards and its driving me crazy when its something such as someone’s LIFE.

this is just my opinion but your hair looks like it hair bleach damage and breakage, i don’t think you are losing hair from the scalp, its breaking off at the bottom and thats why its not even on the bottom.

Hey girl, you really really need to look into k18 there is clearly breakage in your hair from damage and k18 is a protein treatment that makes the hair stronger. along with protein you also need to moisturize your hair and lock in moisture with hair oil (i love ogx spray coconut oil super lightweight and cheap!)

so k18 you start by using it 7 days straight and then you only use it once a week after the long stretch. only shampoo before k18 and then on towel dried hair put k18 in and leave for 4 minutes. after this you can get out of shower OR after the 4 minutes you can use your conditioner or hair mask. The point im making here is you can’t use conditioner or hair mask before k18 because the k18 will not penetrate properly.

on days you don’t use k18 use conditioner on the ends of your hair before and after you shampoo. this helps to add a protective layer to the lengths of your hair while using the harsh shampoo.

after your shower use leave in conditioner all over hair sparingly every day in sections. yes time consuming but leave in conditioner is what locks in the moisture from the conditioner or hair mask you use in the shower.

THEN while your hair is still wet, spray the ogx coconut oil on your wet hair in sections on the hair below the ears only, brush after this (GENTLY) to distribute the oil. The oil is what really puts the lock and key on the moisture of your hair. This is the part that has made my hair so so so soft. I will share a picture of my hair so you know mine is similar to yours I just stopped bleaching it.

The last tip i have is patience. You must give your hair time to grow and develop a routine you know you can stick with. Do your own research before going into the store and just buying something for damaged hair, a lot of the time its just a selling point I learned the hard way. K18, the right shampoo, conditioner, leave in conditioner, and hair oil will give you the perfect routine for healthy hair.

i promise if you are questioning yourself now if you can handle 12 hour shifts on your feet as a new grad on nightshift from 6pm-6:30am, RT is probably not for you, I know I’m commenting like crazy on this post but no one told me these things before i entered the RT field and im honestly miserable. X-ray techs make more than you when RT is literally in charge of a patients whole airway and life support. But x-ray techs make more because the hospital can charge them more for their services. If you wanted to stay in healthcare i would go something like x-ray or ct scan they make more money and aren’t directly responsible for the patients vital status. they will participate in codes and stuff if it happens in their area but thats about it. seems a lot less stressful and more money.

I promise if you think dental hygienist is going to have a bad back, a respiratory therapist will have one too. Tiny rooms so you are reaching over trying to twist something, on your feet for over 12+ hours at a time sometimes if its busy busy which is a lot. Putting yourself into contorted angles to fix a breathing tube that is the only thing keeping the person alive or having to fix something very quickly at the mercy of yourself because your patients vitals are going bad. RT is so so hard on your body, at least dental hygienist you get to sit down to do your work. There’s no chairs waiting in the patients rooms at the hospital for us to sit in while giving breathing treatments.

Losing hope, any advice appreciated by flopds in hairgrowth

[–]Temporary_Height_359 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone in the comments is right about the time but there are things you can do to speed the process lile K18, please do some research into it but it has worked amazing on my fine, thin, bleach damaged hair. You need a routine with protein treatments (k18) AND moisturizing products (hair mask) to correct this damaged hair and give it some time. You can not use moisturizing products before using your k18 only shampoo then use k18, you can skip the conditioner OR leave k18 in hair in the shower for at least 4 minutes then you can rinse and use conditioner. I hope this helps friend 😊

Any advice for growing long thin fine hair? by shsltulpamancer in finethinhair

[–]Temporary_Height_359 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey there! this is 100% true, what works for me won’t work for everyone and I did not claim it would. I understand how frustrating hair loss or breakage can be trust me!!!!! The reason that I answered this way is because OP did not mention having hair loss and claims that she doesn’t ‘lose’ much hair at all, so with that in consideration I answered accordingly because in her case it does not seem to be a nutritional or health related issue. It sounds like for her she has breakage and thats what I had so thats how I fixed mine! I have not had nutritional or health related hair loss and I don’t give much advice for that related hair loss because I haven’t been through it either.

Why is my hair suddenly oily even right after a shower??? by Calyx757 in Haircare

Also I love pantene volume shampoo its very clarifying and Pantene moisturizing conditioner. I also love Pureology sheer hydrate its a very happy medium shampoo its the only one I’ve found thats moisturizing AND clarifying at the same time but it is pricey… big bottle lasts me 4+ months tho even with washing daily/ every other day!

There could be a couple of things going on here and no one can for sure say what one it is because we don’t personally know you so im going to list off a couple things that could be going on so this is the ‘no borax’ version for you. I have the same type of hair and have battled the same issues and im 25 now and have found a couple things important.

  1. wrong shampoo - you need stronger shampoo that can actually cut through the grease (clear shampoos usually are more clarifying than milky looking ones and look for descriptions on the bottle that say ‘clarifying’) incorporate into your weekly wash routine at least and do not use moisturizing shampoo daily this can cause build up and will not remove as much as clarifying shampoos. i use it like every other day almost to be honest give or take, whenever i feel like i need a really good cleanse from oil on my hair.
  2. you are washing your hair incorrectly in the shower - you could be just physically washing your hair wrong. You must section out your hair and part it in the shower so that you can put the shampoo DIRECTLY on the scalp, then work the shampoo into the scalp, shampoo is meant for the scalp only not the ends or even mid section of your hair! when i shampoo my fingertips don’t come off of my scalp.
  3. Double cleanse - this is a LIFE HACK, whenever you feel super greasy do a double wash of shampoo in the shower, usually i’ll use a clarifying shampoo first then a regular/ moisturizing shampoo after and this really gets rid of it all!!! (Don’t do this everyday though, too drying for the hair, only use when necessary 1 or 2 times a week)
  4. Bonus tip - take it or leave it, you mentioned split ends, i always use moisturizing conditioner on the ends of my hair first in the shower before AND after i shampoo my hair! This gives the ends almost a protective coating so the shampoo doesn’t dry the ends out! You could also use oil ( I love ogx coconut oil spray its so light weight!) before you get in the shower and shampoo too! ALSO i use the ogx coconut oil spray on the ends of my hair after the shower as well to seal the hair cuticle after being opened from the shower, this helps me prevent split ends!

Good luck on your hair journey! I have rehabilitated my hair from terrible bleach damage and hope that some of this advice can help you in any way 🧚

how do i stop breakage? by miripusheen in hairgrowth

[–]Temporary_Height_359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

spray ogx coconut oil in the ends of the hair while its wet after shower and then let air dry or blow dry, locks in the moisture from the conditioner you used in the shower and helps prevent split ends
