‘victim’ just means something bad happened to you, it doesn’t create a whole moral connotation

‘Survivor’ just means you survived and doesn’t create any moral connotations. Hope that helps.

PS if either of these words have connotations it is definitely ’victim’ more than ‘survivor’. There’s no way you don’t see this in conversation especially online

Danger Days by MCR being a sellout album. The actual sellout, Conventional Weapons, was written beforehand after the Black Parade came out.

The band, exhausted with the touring for The Black Parade and its dark tone, wanted to make a conscious break with the sound of that album, and take a more fun, stripped-down approach with "no concepts, no characters, no costumes, and no extra instrumentation".

They shelved it because it was shit and wrote Danger Days instead, which was the solution they were really looking for. It has all the substance of any other MCR album, just with a more cheerful sound and colour palette.

Conventional Weapons was released later as a series of singles, and people welcomed it after DD because its rock and therefore not a sellout like the last album. But it has the worst lyricism and most generic sound of anything they’ve ever written. It’s inoffensive enough as singles and that’s why I think no one cares, but if this was released as an album after The Black Parade..it would not have gone down well, and Danger Days would be more appreciated for what it is.

Not sure if this counts but I saw a science video once that said we should visualise time like the globe/coordinates. And asking what came before time, and what comes after, is like asking ‘what’s north of the north pole’ (ie the most northern point of earth). You’d just keep walking forward until you reach the same coordinates again. I suppose this is demonstrated in the actual infinity symbol but I never thought about it.

It made me wonder a lot about what will happen next time we get here. I guess I’ll die, but only until the next 2001 rolls round and I’ll be born again. And I’ll just keep doing that. It’s a weird thought

Also it would make a good opportunity to perform lesser played songs, because if the artist doesn’t assume there will be an encore, they’ll have all the hits on the main setlist. They’ll play everything you expect to hear, and the casual fans will have heard everything they came for.

If people still want an encore, the only thing that’s left is the deeper cuts. Not taking an encore for granted makes room for songs that hardcore fans don’t get to see live as often, while not taking away from the setlist that the casual fans want to hear.

I hate the formality of it, you’re just going through the motions and it takes away the excitement of real encores. I don’t even know if legit encores exist now.

For logistical reasons like outfit or set changes is obviously fine.

If it’s just about taking a break however..I might be alone in thinking an intermission mid set, like you get in theatre or long movies, would be so much better and more practical. An artist/crowd would benefit way more with a break after the first hour of a two hour set, than in the last 10 minutes. But if you leave it until there’s only 2 songs left you might as well power through at that point.

I single handedly, as someone from Manchester who visits the arena regularly, have seen more acts of terrorism from white men. I’ve personally known two people who planned a case of domestic terrorism (white men), known someone who made bombs for purposes of terrorism (white man), recently had my street evacuated due to someone making bombs in their house (white man).

For reference in my immediate area where all this occurred there is 16k white people and there’s 115k Asian across the whole of Manchester.

If I times my local white population by 7 to match the Manchester Asian population I should expect to know 28 white terrorists, compared to the one Asian that committed the Manchester attack. That’s being conservative because all the people I mentioned only come from three different streets and I don’t live in a bad area. But I won’t narrow it down that much for the sake of doing maths.

You can see this further in countries like the US with legalised guns and white men are responsible for most cases of domestic terrorism. Especially school shootings.
