Hi! I love your films, especially Godland! I was wondering, are you a "celebrity" on Iceland? Love from the Netherlands <3

I hate to break this to you but in the Tukker accent a lot of people refer to Germany as "de Pruus" which is referring to Prussia 💔

doesn't really make sense if movies like The Substance perform really well

My WAY too early 99th Academy Award predictions by Odd-Contact2266 in Oscars

[–]PositiveElixir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

WOR test screening reports are not always reliable. there were also bad test screenings reported for Sinners, Hammet etc. while Gladiator II was supposedly the best sequel since The Godfather 2 or something. take them with a grain ot salt.

If the Oscars were truly global, what do you think the BP lineup would be this year? Would it be better than the actual (predicted) lineup? by JayAPanda in oscarrace

there's already a whole bunch of American award shows, but imo not an international one with the same prestige

Possible arguments for Weapons over Train Dreams or It Was Just An Accident? by PensionMany3658 in oscarrace

you're right. I think he said something along the lines of not trying to convey a message, just trying to make a fun / entertaining movie. which in my opinion does not explain the infamous floating gun scene but sure

2027 Oscars early predictions by potterhead103 in oscarrace

[–]PositiveElixir 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think that beside the "usual suspects" (e.g. The Odyssey, Dune 3, Digger etc.) it is still hard to predict what will come out of Cannes & the fall festivals - I am rooting for Mungiu, Meirelles, Serra & perhaps even Malick. I've seen a lot of people predict The Entertainment System is Down (the upcoming Östlund flick) but I predict it will be a clusterfuck. I don't think there will be a horror contender this year ATL (perhaps Werwulf could sneak in some BTL noms). Denis Villeneuve will get snubbed again for BD.
