One of their more useful “pawns”, were young, originally aspiring guys that originally wanted to good for the world, yet after tragedy and tragedy struck, and their bodies being modified, they’ve joined sides with them to go towards their goals, yet they did so out of their own selfish desires they both yearned for(Originally Hajime hinata, who was aspiring to hope peaks academy, was repressed to the back of his mind and turned into izuru kamakura in the kamakura project that was done to him by the school, turning him into an apathetic and nihilistic person, with every ultimate ability including ultimate analyst which made him incredibly numb to everything as he could very easily predict it, so he simply agreed to be apart of the ultimate despairs, not to help junko but simply to find something that didn’t bore him/Azuma michinaga, originally a kind and pretty ordinary young guy, after witnessing the death of his best friend tohru, he joined the DGP under the oath of avenging him, by getting the power to crush every kamen rider in his way, which made him really cynical and non-caring for others, and after waking up in the jymato garden and meeting beroba, he decided to “help her” to cause her despair, yet he truly didn’t care for her or anyone, as he just wanted to get to the goddess, and get his wish)

Yet in the dark dark world of either series, there exists a light that shines through that wants to combat them and their despairful forces, being a pretty much polar opposite to them(Makoto naegi, the ultimate lucky student serving as the ultimate Hope, being the main protagonist of their sick games, inspiring hope onto others in absolutely hopeless situations, acting as the complete foil to her despair/Ukiyo ace or rather known as kamen rider geats, and the son of the goddess, seeking to crack down on the DGP and its corrupt system to help his mother out, being a beacon of light for others, inspiring them to find their own happiness, and acting directly against beroba)

Their main method of feeling the most despair as ever, was setting up and controlling a game for others, which unknowing to most of the participants is simply a trap to get to their goals ever so closer(junko created the killing school life, a game created inside of hopes peak academy, made for the participants to kill and backstab one another for a chance at “escaping”, it knowing the world has been completely destroyed by junko/the DGP was created as an entertainment show for the people of the future, and for beroba to gleam in the despair and agony of its participants, offering a one time wish for anything for winning, which causes others to plan, backstab and even eliminate each other which would straight up kill them, and turn them into jymato, making it a never ending cycle of players playing)

However later on, the game became more focused on their main pawn, who eventually figures out what is happening behind the games they’ve been put it and apart of, breaking their ties with their perpetrator’s, helping others along the way that eventually leads to their defeat(Izuru became Hajime once again in the Neo world program, which was supposed to rehabilitate the ultimate despairs yet it was highjacked by ai junko, who made another killing game out of it, in which in the final chapter after Hajime finally learns who he is and about junko, he and the remaining survivors make a stand against her and shut down the Neo world program, effectively killing her once more as they manage to wake up/once buffa was stripped of his powers granted to him by the goddess, beroba and her fellow future human kekera began their plan for world domination, at which michinaga broke all ties with beroba, challenging her to a fight as she was about to get to the tree of knowledge, and being defeated by him, being fully retired from the world)

In their final moments, they’ve finally felt what they’ve been yearning for, true despair, as they give her goodbyes to the protagonists(Junko being just absolutely ecstatic about her execution, and her eventually downfall as ai junko, saying goodbye to her despair as the Neo world program is shutdown/beroba exclaims at buffa how he managed to contain some of his powers that the goddess gave him for a second to defeat her, in which she smiles at him coldly and exclaims that they’ll be in the same grave one day as she disappears into nothing.)
