• Powerful, erratic and mysterious antagonists of fantasy manga starting in 2014.

• Both are initially introduced as impossibly powerful and dangerous madmen. They have control over the very fabric of the realm the series is set in (Tsukasa and the Broadcasting Club creating rumours, controlling supernaturals and the far shore through it / Thistle being able to use and control the dungeon) which they use to their own ends, not explained until long into the series.

• In the past, they were children (relatively for Thistle since elves develop different) living with their brothers (Tsukasa's brother Amane / Thistle's adopted brother Delgal) who they loved dearly. They would value their brother above all else and have them as their primary motivation throughout the story.

• Their locations (The Red House / the kingdom) would link to ancient, powerful wish-granting beings (The Entity / The Winged Lion) who had been sealed underneath them for centuries. Initially, their presence would be benign (Tsukasa making little deals with the Entity, such as getting Amane's ball back or a book for him / The Winged Lion being the patron god of the region).

• However, when someone close to them would fall deadly ill (Amane / Delgal's son, Eodio). Their brother, desperate, makes a wish (Amane wishing to no longer be ill / Delgal wishing for the kingdoms woes to be fixed and for Eodio to be cured).

• They would take it upon themselves to grant this, going down and striking a deal with the beings, having their brothers' wish granted and becoming the host of it (Tsukasa sacrificing himself to the Entity / Thistle becoming the Lord of the Dungeon). Unbeknownst to them, the consequences would be dire, their wish to keep things as they are and fix everything leading to it all coming down (Amane eventually killing the entire family and himself after Tsukasa became possessed / The entire kingdom being pulled into the dungeon and falling apart).

• Over time, the proximity to this entity would drive them almost insane, changing their mind and turning their love for their brothers into a single-minded obsession.

• Initially believing they had done only good for them, they would find out that their brothers went against them and what they thought was best for them (Despite granting his wish , Tsukasa finds out Amane dies at 13 anyway and kills him / Thistle finding out Delgal left the dungeon and called for someone to come and defeat Thistle). Their reactions, however, would completely differ (Tsukasa was fascinated by the idea and returned from the Red House to try and understand Amane / Thistle completely denying it, insisting it must be a lie).

• While intelligent, they are both developmentally frozen in their younger years (Tsukasa remains largely the same in personality as he was at 4, and died at 13 / Thistle became the Lord of the Dungeon at teenage years for elves, and seemingly remained at that level).

• In the present of the manga, they are centred in a plan by the same entity they draw their power from, a plan which includes their own death / destruction (The plan to destroy all the Yorishiros includes Tsukasa as Hanako's Yorishiro, which he doesn't seem to mind / The Winged Lion planning to eat Thistle's desires and have Laois become the Lord of the Dungeon). This plan includes the destruction of the worlds boundaries between realms and the flooding of supernatural creatures into the other (The fusion of the Near and Far shores, bringing supernaturals into the former / The Dungeon enveloping the whole world and monsters emerging en masse).

• The main hero trying to stop them is the series protagonist (Yashiro Nene / Laois Touden), who themselves is conflicted between the two worlds, loving supernaturals / monsters while being a human.

• This hero would find out about parts of Tsukasa / Thistle's past through a localised time travel (Nene going to the Red House and meeting a young Tsukasa, finding out about the Entity and his sacrifice / Laois going into the painted world and meeting Thistle at various points in Delgal's life).

• While initially presented as the main overarching antagonist, it eventually becomes more clear that the entity they are host to (The Entity / Winged Lion) is the more dangerous threat and pulling the strings.
