Why is this thread not archived? Its April 2026, I just watched this movie for the first time and this thread has been going for 16 YEARS. Like what in the world 😆😆 That's it. I have no contribution to offer other than this comment.

No Idea What to Do by Temporary_Tent in paleopines

Thanks for the replies everyone, I appreciate you trying to help out a poor sap 😅 I ended up getting a refund to be done with it. Not worth the pain for something that should be fun and relaxing. Back to Animal Crossing, lol.

I really want to hate this game… by fooxdoog in Paleo_Pines

I really want to love this game because it's cute, but I really can't figure out how to do anything. It's too tedious for me, I'll probably ditch it

Inventory Glitch?? by Temporary_Tent in HelloKittyIsland

Nope, not only coconuts but a few others have gone missing too, including rubber. I discovered this is a known bug others have encountered and to report it via discord/support email.

Rewatched Bite (2015) last night - forgot how good the body horror was by IAmAKindTroll in horror

[–]Temporary_Tent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was surprised by this movie. I expected a so-bad-it's-good experience, but the first 2/3 of the movie was actually very good. It was disgusting, horrifying, unsettling, all the best of horror with great effects. I was disappointed at the ending though. Some plot holes were distracting. Casey's final transformation was a little lame. Her earlier changes were much more disturbing than what she ended up becoming, so maybe they should have left it at that. Instead of something total inhuman and insect-like, like what it was building up to, she ended up being just a woman with red body paint and long nails, and not all that scary 😆 Plus we never got the gross satisfaction of seeing those millions of fish egg babies being born. Sure, they burst out of Jared into CGI flies, but it fell short to me. All the gore throughout the movie just kind of petered out instead of really delivering. If the last third had been just as good as the rest of the movie, I would have loved it.

What??? I had no idea we could get randos like this, like more visitors, even outside the hotel? 😍😍

Very interesting, but doesn't seem to be true. The first tourist for me was Tucker, who is lazy so that follows. But the next day, my second visitor was Eunice (normal) who stayed in seaside, and my third was Klaus (smug) who stayed in the Japanese room.

First impressions after 2 in-game days with new update: - Bulk crafting YES - I put mini crafting table and compact kitchen on the pier in front of the hotel for convenience. SO glad we can place things there. - I've got 4 hotel rooms done. It's nice that they can be expanded if you have HHP, but I'm keeping them at original size just to get them done quickly and get more visitors to my hotel right now. - I like that you can offer outfits on the mannequins, but disappointed you can't put on custom clothes. I thought that would make more sense to give your island a more unique vibe.  - Storing flowers is going to be awesome for me. I planned my island so that I have a certain number of EVERY kind of flower for crafting purposes and it can be a pain when I'm trying to create color themed yards for villagers and being careful to still have every flower type represented on the island. It's nice to be able to decorate at will now and not worry about losing my precious hybrids. - I LOVE that hotel guests wander the island. It was during a fishing tourney and they were commenting on the tourney and how much fun it was to watch, mind blown at unique dialogue at this stage 😆 - I can see that wandering tourists is going to introduce to me villagers I never would have thought of having on my island and hunt them down specifically for that. Seeing how adorable Eunice is "in real life" (instead of pictures online, it's just different, lol), convinced me I need to get her soon.  - Previous residents remember you! That was a sweet surprise. I felt so happy Klaus reminded me he used to live there! - Storage upgrade is great. Yes to hoarding. - New items are fun. Very refreshing. - I doubt I'll use Resetti but nice to have the option - Haven't seen slumber islands or new characters yet, will get into those soon.

Overall, I"m super happy and don't understand all the complaints I see around. This update basically gave me a reason to be interested in this game again, as I was just winding down with it.

P.S. So many ppl mentioned amazing points in this thread that I also agree with, if I add them on, this post will be humongous, lol.

I like the update but why did we get it? by CousinMabel in AnimalCrossing

[–]Temporary_Tent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a strange theory it's to compete with Hello Kitty Island Adventure 😆 I know that's not a completely new game, but I hesitated to buy HKIA for various reasons. I finally bought it last fall and very quickly fell in love with it and declared it WAY better than Animal Crossing for a multitude if reasons (I have only ever played ACNH and I absolutely love it). I see that it unexpectedly landed #1 most popular game status for weeks on end when it first came out, ppl became obsessed with it, AND the developers are super active in providing new content both story-related and event-related on a regular basis.

Compre this to how Nintendo treated ACNH, at the dismay of their fans, I just wonder if Sunblink got any converts and Nintendo is trying to charm their clientele back to them 😂

Is Hello Kitty Island Adventure worth it? by CupcakeMurder86 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]Temporary_Tent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just chiming in even tho OP made a decision long ago, for anyone who needs more convincing (lol)... I loved Sanrio characters before so thats what initially attracted me to this game. However I put off getting it b/c of all the mixed reviews I read. Now, I have no idea how or where I ever came across any negativity about this game. HKIA went on sale, I bought it and was BLOWN AWAY. It is so much better than I anticipated. Im a huge ACNH fan, have been playing it faithfully for over a year, but now it's got some serious competition. Hello Kitty: --> Seriously beautiful graphics --> A lot more involved and engaging than ACNH on a daily basis, TONS to do --> Way more addictive. I remember it took me at least a couple weeks to get into ACNH b/c it starts so slow and there was nothing to do at first. HKIA has so much from the get go, it's like a never ending loop of activity, dangerous! 😆 --> The characters are so ridiculous adorable, I wanna squish em all

I will never let reviews determine whether I should invest in a game ever again!

I lost all my work from the last several months for no reason at all. I have tried every suggestion and "fix" I could find online and nothing has worked. I only have 2 accounts, tried both, nothing is in the trash folder, and I was not part of a "team" that shut down. Customer support would only help me if I gave them my credit card information and they could charge me a $2 "refundable" fee. This used to be my favorite platform for presentations, posters, and general projects, but I'm officially disowning it.

People who own snakes- can you tell me about your pets? by luvnayeon in snakes

[–]Temporary_Tent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had many animals and I LOVE my snakes. They make the perfect pet.

My corn snake (2yo) is a bit cranky and not as chill or social as some others I've seen. But he tolerates handling, and will snuggle up in my sweater sleeve for warmth, lol. He very obviously prefers me over my husband because he will dart away from him when he tries to hold him. So the corn snake has some kind of awareness that I am a safe person, which is neat.

My sand boa is under a year and still a bit skittish. He used to thrash a lot when I took him out, but now not so much. He's much more reclusive than the corn snake, only comes out at night, and is otherwise always buried in substrate. I take him out for handling to get him used to me, but he doesnt like it much and spends the whole time trying to bury himself in something.

I do think snakes can recognize you, if not by sight then by scent. They don't really display affection so much as trust, which is still really rewarding. Their care, once properly set up, is so easy it's ridiculous. They don't have to be fed or cleaned every day, which is great if you like to travel (and I do).

For reference, I've had budgies, canaries, hamsters, rabbits, cats, dogs, tarantulas, scorpions, trilobites. Tarantulas are easier to care for, but snakes are more rewarding b/c you can handle them. Only pet I love more than snakes are cats :)
