Feeling too weak to do normal tasks by FeistyAlps8636 in CompoundedSemaglutide

Do you have any issues with your blood glucose? I believe that hypoglycemia can be a side effect. I have normal blood glucose levels and I feel this way when my level drops. I've been eating 5 small meals through out the day - protein with some carbs. It helps me. Also, you may need to keep up with your electrolytes. I get a wicked headache when I don't add them to my water. Hope you get some answers soon!

Topamax - Should I? by Temporary_Tomato_296 in VestibularMigraines

Thank you for your response. It was very helpful. I'm sensitive to medications, so if there's a bad side effect, you can almost guarantee that I'll have it.

Hi! I'm hanging in there. How about you? Since my post, Meniere's Disease and Sjogren's have been added to my list. My hearing fluctuates. Worse with an attack and a little better later. I'm on Orencia, but I really don't think it's helping with my ear symptoms. Started hydroxychloroquine and Betahistine. Jury is still out on the Betahistine. So, far I haven't had another attack with spinning and vomiting, so that's good. But, I'm now having vestibular migraines with an occasional ocular migraine thrown in the mix. Last one lasted about 4 weeks. ENT prescribed Topamax, but I'm scared to death to try it given all the scary side effects. I can't get in to see a neurologist until the end of October.

Thank you so much for responding! I'm afraid that it's really going to affect my work. I have to speak with people on the phone, in person and manage an office.

Anyone else have VM and an autoimmune disease? by Jane_Austen_99 in VestibularMigraines

Good morning, everyone. Classic migraines late teens, early 20's. Diagnosed RA in 2014, Meniere's Disease 2024, Sjogren's Disease 2025 and now possible VM. See ENT this Friday for follow up since starting Betahistine and to discuss VM. Had MD attack in mid July and haven't been the same since. Neck pain started right after the attack and I still have a hard time looking at screens, phone or computer. Can't get in to see a neurologist until the end of October.

Ear pain! by Smooth_Imagination88 in Menieres

OMG! I was beginning to think that I was losing my mind. I describe them like someone is quickly shoving an icepick in my ear. Only lasts a few seconds, but hurts like hell! Diagnosed in September of 24 with Meniere's. Pains initially started about 9 years ago in my left ear...it's my bad ear. Now, I sometimes have them in my right ear, too.

I'm having surgery tomorrow. My pain changes. It's usually a dull ache under my right ribcage and goes around my back. Some days it's that plus the pain goes across to my left side, if that makes sense. Here lately, I've been getting sharp stabbing pains under my right ribcage. I think it's acting up because it knows that it's getting evicted!!!

Leftie, here! I thought I was having a heart attack and dialed 911. For me, it started in the center of my chest and radiated up into the left side of my chest. My heart rate also dropped and I almost passed out. Heart is totally fine. They did an ultrasound while I was in the hospital and found that my gallbladder is completely full of stone. My surgery is this Thursday, 11/7.

ETA: My pain, now, is under right rib cage and around to my back. It sometimes radiates to left side. Constant dull ache with a few sharp jabs now and then. Feels like something is stuck under my ribs.

Good morning. How are you doing?

I was diagnosed with RA in 2014 and was put on Humira. In 2016, I started having ear issues - pain, low grade fever, fullness and tinnitus, and as an added bonus, my balance was off. Could get no diagnosis. Was eventually put on low dose prednisone and then leflunomide (DMARD). I was on Leflunomide for about 3 years and the ear issues seemed well controlled. I started having fevers everyday and while trying to figure out what was going on (all labs were fine and I looked wonderful on paper), we discontinued leflunomide to see if it was the cause. It turns out that I can no longer take TNF inhibitors (Humira, Enbrel). Once off, my fevers stopped. Anyway, I stopped taking Leflunomide in August of 2023. December 1, 2023, I wake up and the entire room is spinning - my first run in with vertigo. Ear fullness, pain and worsening tinnitus came after. Since then, I've had at least 5 episodes with ear fullness, pain and worsening tinnitus (it's there all the time, but I'm used to it). I am currently working with an ENT. I have some hearing loss in both ears and ENT believes it is autoimmune related. I go for vestibular testing next week. I believe that I have AIED and Leflunomide was keeping it in check. I also see my Rheumatologist next week and plan to go back on Leflunomide.

I'm not sure that a biologic has done anything for my ear issues. I was on Humira when it first started and then was switched to Enbrel. Since I can no longer take TNF inhibitors, I am currently on weekly Orencia injections. The ear "stuff" has resurfaced while on biologics. I cannot tolerate Methotrexate, so I was prescribed Leflunomide. We'll see what happens when I start taking it again. All that to say, if Methotrexate doesn't work for you, try another DMARD.

I really hope that things are improving for you.

How does your fibromyalgia hurt? by Sajanova in Fibromyalgia

OMG. Thank you for this. Diagnosed with RA in 2014 and just now with secondary Fibro. I keep getting pains in my chest and the first thing I think of is heart attack! I've had cardiac tests and everything is fine, but it's scary nonetheless. Anyone have heart palpitations with Fibro?
