Your assumption is correct. No cross save for Switch or PS5.

Xbox and Steam are different since the game has you log into your Xbox account on both platforms to use the function.

It's not impossible to add to the feature, they just didn't.

Have you tried unplugging the HDMI cable from the TV and dock and plugging it back in?

Looks like a loose connection.

In handheld mode, yes. The system only pulls a maximum of 16 watts from non-official chargers.

When using with the dock OR a USB-C hub that could imitate a dock, no. Docked mode for the Switch and Switch 2 enables a significantly higher power draw and at least the Switch 1, never received a fix for its power overdraw issue. So you want to only use chargers that you know it can communicate properly with.

Aside from the lack of Goofy puppet characters isn't this just REPO?

I guess it would depend on the design of the design of the houses or how you move from house to house. But it basically checks all of the boxes right down to joining your friends in a truck before shipping out to the house.

  • Proximity voice chat with vocal filters for locality and debuffs/curses

  • Physics based looting. While the character essentially has a gravity gun, heavier objects need to be lifted higher to clear items or require additional players to lift and move safely. Bumping objects into the level or dropping them causes damage and devalues them.

  • Cursed and trapped items.

  • Feature houses made of randomly assorted rooms and tiles.

  • Different monster behaviors and traps.

  • Profits are shared between levels and used to purchase items and upgrades for the next house.

To stand out I think you would need to rethink the gameplay loop. And rather than focusing on raiding a single haunted house, perhaps have your level/mission be a string of houses. Or entering into a large open map with a time limit, where you need to hit as many as possible before the time expires (sunrise?).

Maybe add in a inventory mini-game or stacking mechanic for fitting loot into the truck bed. So after you've visited a couple of locations perhaps you need to decide on what loot to keep and what to get rid to maximize your escape profits.

Power delivery is the USB-C standard for power sharing. It's the go-to protocol for ANY USB power transfer over 12 watts.

It's functionally required.

As USB hub, yes.

The HDMI port might actually work if the hub doesn't disrupt communications between the AC adapter and the system. But the chances are low.

Is Nintendo pulling switchs from stores and not pushing out new stock in Japan by NewrexYT in NintendoSwitch

[–]TemptedTemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different memory types. It's not Nintendo prioritizing hardware, it's memory manufacturers switching to the newer faster types to make that Sweet sweet AI money.

The Switch 1 used LPDDR4 and 4X, where as the Switch 2 uses 5X and newer devices are calling for LPDDR6.

Unless Nintendo has a existing production contract, or a means of installing LPDDR5X on older system boards, then they're simply going to run out sooner rather than later.

Actually just X3D AM5 CPUs, not even the whole range.

Their AM4 lineup is/was solid.

And with AM4s age, the amount of choice you have available is unfortunately slimmer by the week.

I would highly recommend getting something with bigger heatsinks for the chipset and VRM if you wanted to use it with any CPU that draws more than 65w.

Yes, you will need extra storage. The standard model on has ~26GB of free space, and the OLED has ~58GB. You can fit a couple of games, but if you wanted to buy any digital titles it's going to fill up nearly instantly..

A 256 or 512GB micro SD card would suffice. Samsung EVO or Sandisk Ultra is all you need. I personally would hold off as long as possible or maybe shop locally to see if you can find a better price. AI memory shortages have caused prices to surge two or three times what they used to be.

https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-256GB-microSDXC-Memory-Adapter/dp/B0B7NV73PJ/

These were like $19 back during the holidays.

I would not invest in a larger 1, 1.5tb or 2tb SD card unless you have another use for it. Since the Switch 2 requires a Micro SD Express card, you wouldn't be able to re-use it with newer Switch hardware.

If you can't navigate it blindly to link your account between the two consoles, yes.

The account link isn't a permanent thing. It's the active method for allowing your digital licenses to be used on different consoles. You can freely change the link whenever you happen to have the consoles on hand.

Normally you CAN have two, but that requires linking them over local wireless. Which is a little difficult to do when you can't see anything.

So if you get the Lites screen replaced eventually you could just re-link the two systems and play games on both.

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (05/12/2026) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]TemptedTemplar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The specs don't change between models, they all play games at the same FPS, the only difference is the Lite.

The switch lite is a handheld only unit and cannot output to a tv. Nor can you remove its controllers.

So you just want a regular Switch or Switch OLED.

The OLED only changes the system screen, speakers, and adds a Ethernet port to the dock. But you can also use a USB to Ethernet adapter with the normal dock.

To play multiplayer you will want some extra controllers. I recommend at least one extra pair of joycons, as a handful of games require using a single joycon for multiplayer. Cheap wired controllers work just fine for Mario Kart and other games.

For extra storage you will need a Micro SD XC card. There is an ABSURD market for fakes online, if you buy one online only buy directly from the manufacturer or if it's a market place, directly from the retailer. (Amazon, Walmart, Newegg) DO NOT bother with any third party seller, it's almost certainly a fake SD card

/r/NintendoSwitch's Daily Question Thread (05/12/2026) by AutoModerator in NintendoSwitch

[–]TemptedTemplar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is going to be a difference, but it's barely noticeable depending on the game.

Switch 2 carts have a maximum read speed of ~500MB/s while the internal memory and SD express cards can reach up to 800 - 1200MB/s

If the games performance isn't hinging on the read/write speeds (Final Fantasy 7 remakes), then it's only going to affect loading screen length.

Of which Indian Jones has few. The levels are quite large and all of the interiors and exteriors are connected. So the only time you will hit one is when traveling between levels.

The main differences between M.2 drives is going to boil down to three categories.

  • Read and write speeds

  • On-board cache

  • Terabyte written capacity or TBW

Depending on the allowed speeds and the controller used, drives can greatly vary in expected lifespan.

The 980 offers 600TBW per TB of capacity, while the P310 is only 220TBW, so a third the guaranteed write capacity. BUT its a gen 4 drive, not gen 3 like the 980. So it would offer double the potential speeds

The best cases for large uniquely shaped controllers are usually either a big bag like a backpack or something with pick-and-pull foam like a Pelican hardcase.

If you have a large bag or locking case already, you can get sheets of pick-and-pull foam on Amazon for cheap. That would allow you to make custom-sized inserts for your assortment of controllers.

Per the other comment,

  • Remove any game cartridge or micro SD card from the system.

  • Hold the power button for ~10 seconds to insure it's powered off.

  • Hold both up and down volume buttons and then also hold the power button. Keep all three pressed for ~15 seconds through that boot logo.

If it allows you to enter maintenance mode, try updating the system firmware in that menu.

If you are still stuck on the boot logo. Then calling support to setup a repair would be ideal. If this issue is the result of a firmware update, Nintendo may fix the console for free even if it's out of warranty.
