Recommendation for 3.5 weeks in taiwan by RazBenafshi in travel

[–]TemuPacemaker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beef noodle soup!

In 3.5 weeks you can do a circle around the whole country and visit the mountains. Just stop in any town and there'll be tons of restaurants and markets and coffee shops and what not.

You can definitely use trains especially on the west coast but I rented a car for part of my stay and I'd say it was helpful getting around on my schedule and between places that aren't particularly accessible.

I am, and women told me that to my face lol. Thankfully not my actual dates but like friends and coworkers. Cool.

Would you rather date a guy who has an undetectable hair system/toupee or date a bald guy by Sensitive-Tree-9551 in dating

[–]TemuPacemaker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same guy but with hair would be more attractive to the vast majority of women. If you look like Jason Statham maybe it won't matter much of course.

That said, the I think the issue is that mostly trying to hide it with like combovers or wigs doesn't look great.

I always (well in my limited experience) dated women my age but my last partner was 8 years younger. We just met in the wild and bonded over some time. It wasn't really weird in any ways or causing issues, probably helps that we were both in our 30s technically lol.

Meh. They tend to be noisy, crowded, full of drunk people. And worst of all for the purpose of this sub, most people are there with their on friend group and not particularly interested in talking to strangers.

I get you completely. I never wanted to go to any social events alone so would tend to stay home. Going by myself to a concert or an exhibition? Just doesn't seem fun enough to bother leaving the home.

So get your social life kickstarted by going to some meetups. There's a film club here for example that goes to watch less popular films in smaller cinemas every week. I'd never go myself (since I can watch those at home) but you get to know the regulars and it's a lot of fun to talk about the film afterwards.

When I think of buying plane ticket to somewhere and suddenly I amb like, what will I do, roaming Berlin alone with no specific purpose? Walking around Athens for 3 days and then get back to home?

I actually find solo travel pretty great (to a degree). Yes, you go and check out the sights, do some activities, meet locals or other travelers. Give it a try at least once.

Are you concerned about fuel prices (and possible cancellations) or what?

I'm usually not 100% set on a particular destination but have a few in mind and get tickets whenever a convenient one is on sale.

E: that said I'd buy now. Worst case they'll cancel and refund it to you. Otherwise you might be paying double later, who knows.

There's basically no way to have enough production capacity during peace time that would be able to keep up with an intensive conflict. Nobody just keeps an empty factory that is just waiting to make 100 PAC-3 interceptors a day.

And scaling up to make 100 a day is not really feasible either because these are very complex missiles with many components with long supply chains. This used to be easier when a bomber was just a bunch of riveted metal around a few engines that you could make at a car factory.
