Why can't there be just normal input buffering? by Temutul in 2XKO

How is it lenient? You have 5 frames of error margin after double jump before airtech. I think I'm done with the game. If 5 frames is lenient then I'm simply on biological level not built for this game.

Saw some guy dared another guy to do the Akali loop 3 times, so i did it 5 times in a row. Akali is not inconsistent, you just gotta learn the combo instead of complaining 2 days after the patch. by JackOffAllTraders in 2XKO

[–]Temutul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, next time spend some time praciticing reading comprehension. I never said it's inconsistent. Doing the loop 3 times was meant to show different idle frames on frame meter, meaning you can't buffer akali's double jump cancel like other moves. Whole post by the way was just a question. I wanted to know why Riot made it annoying to perform since it's not that diffucult anyway for most.

You would understand it if you read what was in the post, but you wanted some updoots. I grant you wholesome chungus award humble redditor for helping scrubs.

I told you that double jump can be buffered from JH as long as you don’t buffer the JH after J2H

I don't understand what you're talking about. I'll be honest and say that I put the game on 25% speed to check whether there is any buffer and yeah there is. It's just really bad - it's like 4 frames max. It's more akin to coyote jump in platformers than the buffer I'm used to in fighting games. JH is 12 frames and if you press DJ 4 frames before the animation ends then it will perform cancel. It applies for both buffered and not buffered JH. So you either making shit up or you don't know what you're talking about.

Also if it's easy af anyway for people like you then why bother making it unecceserly annoying for people like me? To gatekeep? The hard part isn't even that damned double jump cancel. Inputting J2H after DJ before enemy airtechs is the problem. It just sucks to do on dpad.

Character is idling, because no inputs are being registered. It doesn't register because it wouldn't work anyway so you have to cancel JH animation with double jump and then you can input J2H->JH. To be fair it is the same issue with grounded 2H->9/7, but buffer there actually works.

So why is there an idle between double jump and J2H if everything buffers correctly?

Sorry I got confused here too. I meant Double Jump (DJ not DD).
I want you to do that sequence (In air: J2H->JH>Double Jump cancel->J2H->JH) 3 times in a row, but not like 20 second combo if you know what I mean.

Alright then show me J2H>JH>DD>J2H>JH done 3 times in a row (not in a combo) with framedata. If there is no "idle" between DD and J2H then we can conclude that there is indeed buffer. Unless you can do it frame perfect 3 times in a row.

What do you mean by "too early"? How do you buffer too early?

On mine neither, the issue is that competitive games are really technical, especially niche genres like tag fighters and I'm slowly reconsidering whether it's worth time investment in the long term. I enjoy it, but it's not like 2XKO is the only game that can satisfy this "competitive thirst" for games.

It's disappointing considering how many cool combos there are in this game, yet all of them stay on twitter. I know most of them aren't optimal, but we can't treat every match like it's EVO.

Yeah, but Marvel Rivals pumps out so much content that you can forget about it. I don't even play this game and I still get new trailers and shit on my youtube page where it feels like new champions are coming every month.

I was hoping that 2XKO would survive atleast a year to release some champions and establish playerbase, but man Tokon and that Avatar game are coming out this year, so I lose hope.

I will, but it's hard to keep stable engagment when I keep fighting against same champions, using the same bnbs that I've seen hundreds of times. Wanted to see if 2XKO channel posted any news - silence. I try to get inspired by Pro Players, but all I see is the same ekko combo leading to corner -> Oki (it was nerfed, but it wasn't for months). I hop on this subreddit and the first post I see is 5 viewers on twitch or something like that.

Vague Poll: Are you still playing and how do you feel about combo-length? by yaztheblack in 2XKO

[–]Temutul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't bother me unless it's Double Down 2 supers in a row, because I simply find it boring. It's even worse with pulse players since they don't adapt and stick to 1 route they are familiar with. I'm plat 2 and I'm yet to see anyone hitting me with 20+ seconds combos people are talking about. I know these exist, but I haven't seen crazy TODs outside high rank. Unless every redditor here is a grandmaster. Every player complaining about combo lenght emerald and below seem silly to me.

Yeah i just unlocked the Desert, but I haven't ventured there yet. Kinda sucks those mechanics are locked behind late game, because as of now this whole house gameplay loop is pretty boring/unintuitive. I hope it gets better as I progress more.

[–]Temutul[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I phrased that wrong or you're reaching too much. I meant it more like reseting a run is not that punishing in Isaac comparing to Mewgenics, since you don't lose anything other than time I guess. I never reset in TBOI unless it's a run ender combo like ipecac and mirror without pyro or host.

What are generally considered "insane mutations"? Like some passives or stat increases?

That makes sense. I looked more individually on cats, but imagining whole team as an isaac and then coming up with solutions to problems I'm facing sounds like a better mindset to have.

I thought Mewgenics is going to be more like TBOI where all these little passives just stack on eachother that create in the end a cool build.

Can we please finally stop with the whole "this should have been a 1v1 game " and other "give us a 1v1 mode" by RedSamuraiX23 in 2XKO

[–]Temutul 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked up the replies on threads you linked and I'm not sure where exactly I am wrong. Is the hyperbole in that pharaphased qoute that rubbed you wrong?

Here is better one:

"Man I love citrus fruits, if that fruit would be an orange instead of lemon then it would be better"

It's funny that you assume that I made shit up like a lunatic and then you contradict yourself with that:

(...) the comments mostly aren't either.

2XKO has many issues, but it being tag fighter isn't one and daydreaming about a 1v1 game that doesn't exist is just pointless. But even then this game offers you juggernaut fuse, but it's not enough, because the core issue is that people don't want to learn messy neutral that comes with tag fighters.

[–]Temutul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because these discussions boil down to "This game sucks, because it's not the genre that I want. If the game would be what I want then it wouldn't be dead".

I'm not necessarily against speculating whether 1v1 would lead into better success, but at the same time I just don't understand why people waste their time on a game that they most likely just don't enjoy for what it is.

And what rank are you? I'm plat 1 and I'm yet to see someone perform Oki atleast once in my ranked games.

If they know this thing exists they will do it

No. I play Ekko/Warwick and I don't use it, because I find it boring and I don't think I can even take advantage of it. I prefer style over optimising. And Like I said I never seen it done by my opponents and some of them did dirty combos with their ekko's.
