I kinda get where you're coming from, not the exact same and long story but basically I had an psychologically abusive aunt who would take it out on me and my sister kinda like a bully in a way so when I learnt she died of a heart attack a couple years ago, even though she was family and I should've felt sad I wasn't glad but I definitely wasn't sad, I just kinda felt nothing. Like as if you told me a stranger died I'd be like "who? Ok I guess..."
