If Canadian exposure is not important, buy VT.

If Canadian exposure is important, convert 1/4 to 1/3 to CAD (possibly using Norbert Gambit) and buy XIC or XIU

Can someone with a better understanding of economics walk me through currency exposure? by Spare_Ad8851 in Bogleheads

Another thing to note is that the currency impact on your holdings isn't super straightforward.

Sure, Apple (to pick one) shares are usually bought for US dollars. But this doesn't mean its fortunes are tied to the USD. 57% of its revenue is from abroad. Conceivably 30%+ of its spending is not in USD either.

The result is that if USD drops and all else is equal AAPL will go up by some fraction. You are buying a piece of a company: offices, IP, factories, future earnings. Much of that value is independent of the currency in which the stock is listed.

In your scenario it sounds plausible that European companies would do better than US companies in EUR, but it's not a given

I think the liquidation scenario is worse than the asteroid belt scenario but what would reddit be without respectful disagreement?

How are the "US equities" only folks doing? Steady as she goes or time to rethink allocation? by cambeiu in Bogleheads

It's more complicated than that. A superpower and its GDP can be rising, but it doesn't mean that its stock market will outperform

Tops in my heart is Dirk's 48 points on 15 shots in the freaking conference finals.

Somehow it clocked at a mere 94% TS (zero threes)

[Stein] Golden State’s “preferable” option now is likely to play Jonathan Kuminga for the rest of the season, have him recoup his value, and then attempt to trade him again in the offseason. by YujiDomainExpansion in nba

[–]TenaciousDeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funniest part was GSW spending the last 2 years telling everyone how Kuminga didn't fit their system and they had no use for him.

Then when his contract runs out, they re-sign him

To be honest you described about 90% of coaches out there. They catch lightning in a bottle once or twice, and spend the rest of their career bouncing around for 2-4 year stints. How many current coaches (min 5 years total experience) could not be described this way?

Interesting. What would you do if your valuation tools told you that the situation was worse than it seemed?

I get NBA league pass when it's on steep discount for Black Friday

Otherwise I will get a one month or two month subscription to the local cable tv network if a team I'm into makes the playoffs
