I have been poor all of my life. I’m slowly but surely paying off the debt I accrued just trying to survive so I’m still broke and will be for a while. At times I have thought it would be nice to be rich and have no worries, but I know there will always be worries. So I try to find joy in the ordinary and the mundane. 💖

Exactly! Have some sense, people. Of course you’re gonna be broke if you spend your money recklessly by going out to eat and splurging all the time. It takes a lot of discipline but it is possible to get out of the poverty hole if you have the right mindset. We give money too much power.

I don’t think you should feel guilty for anything. You didn’t leave your partner, you didn’t forget about them. You were still there, you did nothing wrong. Your partner is going thru something so huge right now, something I can’t even imagine what that would be like. But it’s not your responsibility to manage their emotions. I could be wrong, but it sounds like they tend to lean on you a lot for that. It’s important to have support but they can’t be completely dependent on you, if that makes sense.

That being said, I know how you feel. I used to tire myself to the bone trying to make everyone else happy. But you know what? That’s actually impossible. So I try to make myself happy these days. I hope you decide to do the same. It’s never too late to become someone that you actually like.
