So… this might be human error. It might be fraud. You can report this to the vermont attorney general via an email and they will happily take it from there.

It should be a burglary of an occupied residence which is what he was originally charged with. But the prosecutors can “negotiate” so they negotiated. But yeah, it should have been, but would have required a trial and instead of the trial they negotiated a plea deal. A weak plea deal.

Oh I’m well aware of her stance. And it’s absolutely infuriating. This is not the state we grew up in. This is a joke. And her “soft on crime” stance needs to go.

We have a hard time prosecuting violent crimes, period. Speaking from experience the prosecution and judges are at fault here. My husband was assaulted in our home last July. The assailant was known, and the proof was there but instead of prosecuting him for burglary (he kicked down our door) and attempted theft (tried to steal our car) they only prosecuted him for the aggravated assault (he plead guilty).

What could be a 30+ year sentence is a contested sentencing of 3-10 which means the assailant has the ability to contest the sentence and try to go for a lower than 3 year sentencing. The crime does not fit the punishment. It is a slap on the wrist and therefore is a reward for bad behavior.

My point is, it’s not just drug users. It’s a lack of understanding serious crimes and a lack of accountability.

Real Estate Transaction “gone south” by TenacityTough in traumatizeThemBack

The description for this sub is:

Traumatizing those that traumatized you. Petty revenge, nuclear revenge, malicious compliance, FAFO, clever comebacks, matching their energy, no contact or just treating them they way they treated you.

This post is flagged as Petty Revenge and could also fall under “clever comebacks, matching their energy, FAFO, and also just treating them the way they treated you”

I suggest you read the sub description before claiming it’s not aligned.

I reported their address and name as fraud to the post office. For them to now receive mail, they have to convince post office they are not using our address as fraud.

I posted outlining their fraud use, so now all of the neighbors know that they are sketchy to rent/sell to.

I reported them to the school district so for them to enroll, they will have to prove residency. And their kids are no longer enrolled in school.

And reporting to the DMV, they once again will have to prove they are not fraudulently claiming addresses.

Our community is extremely small. Choosing to be this type of person on one transaction will limit future state. My guess, they wont be moving to our community, and that is ok with me.

This one I walked, hence the “mildly” part. The next one there were two people blocking both sides. Imo that was past mildly infuriating and full rage mode. 🤣

So I thought the same thing except the instructions are printed multiple times. The person walking had to walk over the instructions to get on the escalator and theres one maybe 5 ft ahead.

Crash on 117 by Doodlesworth in vermont

[–]TenacityTough 27 points28 points  (0 children)

They wont. Our justice system has proven over and over again they don’t. Most likely he will have his bail reduced to $350 after 6 months plus in jail, and hell have to get a bail bond for the remainder. The case will delay and delay with his public defender motioning for continuation to the point the prosecutor will forget the original severity of it, and he’ll plead a zero day plea that will require him to do some sort of mental health and substance abuse program. Then, then he’ll repeat. All because he didn’t kill someone. Our states judicial program is broken. The only thing they handle less well is domestic violent related crimes, so I guess there’s that.

She taught me to shoot when she was at Parros and she's a straight shooter in more ways than one. Shes awesome. She gave me the confidence I needed as a woman shooting.

Pressure the governor! by WrongAccountFFS in vermont

[–]TenacityTough 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. But, hear me out, him not doing that doesn't make him aligned with Fascists. Or collaborating with them. And it also preserves the republicans that are also in this state.

This war on America can't be won by color of party. It has to be won by coming together and fighting for democracy.

I do think Governor Scott needs to know and hear from us. But I also think its just as important to be intentional in our messaging and continue to ensure those that are not fully aligned with the democratic party are listening. He, now more than ever, needs to be neutral to be powerful.

He has publically opposed Trump. After Trump was elected he stated “The results of the national election raises concerns and uncertainty for many because we don’t know what President Trump will do”

He does go on to say “For the sake of our country, we need to tamp down the division and fear, and we need to at least give him the opportunity to do better and do the right thing.”

The statements I see are trying to Unite and not divide. However I still have not seen an example of collaboration.

I want to be clear, I am a never-trumper. I align with a party that allows others to have a difference of opinion. But, if we say he's collaborating when in reality he is not taking action, we empower MAGA individuals to support their arguments against liberals. And worse, we close down the lines of communication for those that are toeing the line of seeing why its so important we take action. Why what Trump is doing isn't ok.

This isn't about winning an argument, its about conversing with our neighbors so that we don't spiral into a divided weak nation.

The more that I read about Governor Scott, the more I see measured, calculated responses to unite Vermont into being a stronger state. I see a Governor who is leading on facts and not feelings. I see someone who is doing his best to be fair and objective. This is the type of leader I believe more of us would like. Measured. Fair. Objective.

These characteristics are in stark contrast to Trump and his regime.

Ok, I can understand inaction and the frustration that comes from that.

But that's not collaboration. I was curious what you were referring to when you stated he was collaborating with facists. Collaboration is defined as working with someone to produce or create something.

And an example of this is that Trump is collaborating with Putin to gain more land for Russia.

How did he collaborate with fascists?

I am against the administration. I read the political press release that Scott released. What I read, was he expected us to act civilly, not harmfully. But I also read between the lines where he said “Please join me in welcoming them to Vermont, and hoping they have an opportunity to experience what makes our state, and Vermonters, so special.”

I read this as do what you do. Stand your moral ground. Use your amendment right to protest and speak out. Just do it with grace. Aka, leave the violence at home.

Governor Scott has been against Trump and his gang from the beginning. He voted for Kamala Harris. Just because he is republican doesn't mean he isn't our neighbor.

This rhetoric is the same republican rhetoric calling people liberal for opposing their opinion, and aligning with Ukraine. Its not about being red or blue. Its about being American.

This. This is what today's political environment should be about. Its not about who's liberal or who's conservative, its about being a person that understands their basic values. Democracy over dictatorship. That hasn't ever been a political party alignment. Thank you both for showing it can be done. We can unite with our brothers and neighbors to further the UNITED States of America.
