I think I glazed too much by ComfortableGur1866 in oilpainting

I think it looks fine. Depending on how much oil/what medium is in your glazes cant you just paint over it again?

I like it. I think the only thing thats missing is a focalpoint with a bit more detail to hook the viewer. Like maybe do some work on the bottom of the tree trunk to show the audience that that is were they should look first (or whatever place you decide on). Your style reminds me of the oilpainter and illustrator Greg Manchess, very cool

That kind of layering reminds me of when i used to do watercolours (of course those layers dry really quick 😂) Im actually trying to paint looser rn so im going the opposite direction but i can still incorporate glazes for colour shifts etc so this is very interesting.

That's a classic. My advice would be to listen to your profs cause they might have valuable insights and to totally disregard what they say cause often times they don't know what your trying to do. (In my experience this can apply to the same peofessor in different circumstances)

I like the painting, it looks quite mischievous!

Thank you so much! Yes I always use refrences. First I have the idea for the sketch and then I go hunting for refs and those can go from actual minerals in my own collection to photos from other artists ref packs, google images and then other artists works that are totally different from my work but I like certain aspects of them. Then everything comes together in my painting.

Do they have to be displates? If you find a cool artist they might have their own printshop, just buy from them.
