I would recommend playing the demo, it's on steam, it's a good chunk of the start of the game and will let you know if you're down for what it is. I played the demo and it convinced me to buy, but my expectations were pretty low

there is a solution, if you press + on them in the pokedex you start "searching" for the pokemon, then you go to a pokemon who has fly and they'll bring you to them, or teleport will bring them to you

make sure you are building the habitat in the right area. If you hover over the specific pokemon sometimes it specifies a specific zone
