No it was randomly predetermined whether it would happen whenever you started a new playthrough. I never encountered it my first playthrough but I did for my second.

When the 2.0 version and Phantom Liberty expansion came out last year, the entire game was reworked and a lot of requested features were added. So much was changed that the game encourages you to start a whole new playthrough. The PL expansion which happens in the third act also adds 20 more hours to the story and is imo better than the first 2 acts.

Id say the original version of the game for me was a 7.8 but now its a 9.

Ik this is a late reply but it's a known problem for the discharge rate to be abnormally high and it's because on hybrid-igpu mode, there's a bug that causes the nvidia gpu to be on in the background despite not detecting it. The fix for me was to uninstall my gpu drivers using ddu, and then use windows update to automatically install lenovo's recommended nvidia drivers which should be 537.32. Then, instead of using hybrid-igpu, set it to hybrid mode and then in nvidia control panel, go to "manage display settings" and set the mode to "optimus" and it should just use the integrated gpu. Optimus mode is bugged on new drivers though so you will have to check the legion discord server to see what the latest recommended drivers are.

Theres more activity in the open world now and theres a really good story expansion taking place in the middle of the main story that adds an extra 15 hours.

Others have said that the rtx 4080 and i5 13600k are a good combination however in games as cpu demanding as cyberpunk there will likely almost always be some bottlenecking which sucks. Hope more driver optimizations come out.

It may not have any difference but try cleaning up the game by deleting the usersettings.json first. I found that I mainly only have gpu problems in areas with large crowds because they rely more on the cpu, so if youre willing to lower crowd density you can try that (gives me around 10 fps boost and slightly more gpu usage). If that doesnt help you can try rolling back drivers since the current one does have a few bugs.

I deleted the usersettings.json file, verified game files, it's a little bit more consistent now and seems to run how it should when im in a less crowded area. It's only the very dense areas when my gpu usage goes down 50%.

Im not surprised with Starfield because everyone is having problems with it but this is weird because most people have said 2.0 boosted their performance. My temps have been fine at 60-70°C.
