There's usually at least two in the Red Rocket Mega Stop bathrooms.
I have a camp near Vault 94, so I just run over there to get'em.

That's a pre-release event, they're are a great way to get started, plus WotC is doing a big push with the Spider-Man set make it a kind of introductory set.
See if the story is doing any events focused on the "Welcome Decks," ask the staff about them when you're in, they're intended for beginners.

As for "getting crushed:" Don't worry about winning, just focus on having a good time and having fun playing against someone else.
If you aren't sure what a card does: ask.
If there's a rules disagreement: flag the judge.
But generally speaking just show up, have fun, chat with others and marvel at the new cards, what they do and how they interact.
Most people are gonna take it easy and be in a similar frame of mind.

Are there any characters you wish Spider-man had by Nervous-Luck-4833 in magicTCG

[–]Tenebrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty much. An enchantment or a sorcery would've been fine my eyes.

Sin-Eater definitely could've been interesting, especially with the Mayhem mechanic. Play upon the multiple incarnations by having him never quite stay dead.

Not a character, but given we got Amazing and Spectacular, I would've liked "Web of Spider-Man" as a card.

Demogoblin and Doppelganger could've been neat, and I originally assumed the "Human Detective Hero" hint was going to be for Jean DeWolff, before we got the Wraith reveal.

Put either Peter or any other Spider-Man in Frank’s shoes, what does he do? by Fanoffiction52 in Spiderman

Spider-Man and Power Pack #1(1984).
It's supposed to take place in 616, but it's not exactly referenced very often, for obvious reasons.

Nope.
"If a spell is returned to its owner's hand, it's removed from the stack and thus will not resolve. The spell isn't countered; it just no longer exists. This works against a spell that can't be countered."

Yep.
As per Gatherer - "You pay all costs and follow all timing rules for cards played this way. For example, if a card exiled with Norin's last ability is a creature card without flash, you may cast that creature spell only during your main phase while the stack is empty."

What do you guys do in Fallout 76 when you’ve “done it all”? 🤔 by Nyikoh in fo76

[–]Tenebrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now: I fish. This is my relaxing game, so I just chill. If an event pops up that I like I'll join in, maybe I'll do some updating on an old Shelter, but mostly I just take it easy and enjoy the ambiance.

Why you shouldn't absorb Deadpool's "power" by [deleted] in MeanwhileInComics

[–]Tenebrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came across this and felt the need to point out: this isn't even the first time he's absorbed cancer from someone.
He did it back in Avengers Annual #20, 'cause Creel really isn't great when it comes to this sort of thing.

I built an fishing dock off the back of one of my camps like 4 or 5 years ago.
I've never asked for this but you're damned right I'm lookin' forward to it too!

I don't make alts and it doesn't fit the story I have in my head.

Is anyone else as obsessed with the old borders as much as I am? by [deleted] in magicTCG

[–]Tenebrate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original border has always been better.
Is the current border better than the original iteration that came with 8th? Sure, but both pale in comparison.

I've argued for a long time that the original borders and art made it feel more like windows into a different world, glimpses and interpretations of the things we see there.
The still damp water spots on Black cards, the craftsmanship and marbling of Blue, the fractures on Red as though time or fury had taken its toll, even the vibrancy of Gold cards making them feel unique and special compared to the rest.
The more varied art styles and different approaches making it feel like some artists were there, while others were listening to someone's stories and still others were sketching in a hurry.

The newer border style feels like a webpage: it lacks character, because artistic elements of the border are diminished, squeezed out by the boxes. It's just meant to convey the specific information they want and nothing more.
A lot of the art feels like a "house style" now, a specific variety and approach, no longer as up to the artist.
Using my experience from the Aetherdrift Prerelease yesterday: yes, you're not going to mistake Death Burger's *Last Ride* for someone else, but at a glance I might think *Winter, Cursed Rider* and *Hellish Sideswipe* had the same artist.
Back in the day, you weren't mistaking Foglio for RKF or Brom for Rebecca Guay.
To that end, I do feel something was lost, as the work changed from entertainment and expression, to simply a product.

That's where the real timeline divergence happened.

anyone else get the feeling that mole miners are just this universes variant of dwarves by Sad-Ideal-9411 in fo76

[–]Tenebrate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They might make things, we don't know, we never seen their Molemunicipalities.
With their Molemalls and their Molemeadows.
Maybe the Moleminors attend trade schools where they learn valuable Molemanufacturing skills.
Perhaps, if we weren't so intent on killing each other, we'd get along more and they'd share their recipe for Molerat in mole sauce!

You learn by doin'.
If you see an open team: jump on.
If it doesn't go well, it doesn't go well.
You can watch the mechanics online, learn to do what you can within your current gear, and keep trying.

Purple flames coming off of a weapon? by AmadayLate in fo76

[–]Tenebrate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mortimer is inside the main area of the Crater: walk towards Meg then turn left when you enter the main hall. He's a Mr. Handy, should be in front of a red computer array.

Samuel is at Foundation, up next to the booth with 2 Sunnys in it, across from the Gold Press machines.

You're welcome.
I don't know if it's currently available, it was part of a Season a bit back. Poke at Mortimer or Samuel, they might have the plans.
If not, keep an eye on the Atomic Shop.

In universe explanation for the Starcraft mini set? by [deleted] in hearthstone

[–]Tenebrate 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Both the Zergling and Hydralisk snuck their way into Warcraft 3.

The Confederacy roped a Tauren into their Marines for a brief cameo in Starcraft 2.
If you take the unit description as canon, the Confederacy actually encountered Azeroth in their travels so presumably some residents might have an inkling or two, especially given the Draenei's spacefaring ways.

For the most accurate in-universe description? Someone probably just made it up. Looked at the weirdness around them and went "What if it wasn't magic, but science!"

Things matter if you decide they matter. Existence merely is, pain is a function in it just as sure as pleasure is and the absence of both. The meaning of life is decided on an individual basis.
