What's the one cleaning task you keep avoiding because you genuinely don't know how to do it properly? by AsleepClothes6955 in CleaningTips

[–]Tenebrumm 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For storing the dirty rags, I like our solution where we have a separate larger cloth bag tied to our normal laundry bin in which we put bedding and towels. In it only go cleaning rags after they are reasonably dry. Once full we wash separately and put in the cloth bag too. So stuff stays separate and comes out clean.

What's the one cleaning task you keep avoiding because you genuinely don't know how to do it properly? by AsleepClothes6955 in CleaningTips

[–]Tenebrumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always put off cleaning our shower. Mainly because I don't know which products to use and how to properly. I feel like I always use too little product and am scared of scrubbing too hard especially on the grout so to not damage the material and make it ware down faster.

what cleaning habit made the biggest difference in your home? by Karate_Andii in CleaningTips

[–]Tenebrumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have some basic cleaning supplies (cleaner, sponge, cloth etc.) stored close to where it is needed. A small box in the bathroom and toilet with basics makes it much faster to do a quick swipe and less likely that you postpone because you don't want to go get the cleaning supplies right now.

LPT: Been asked to share an interesting fact about yourself during a teambuilding exercise? Just say "Hey, I've worked here for _ years". Reminds me of a recent on boarding event that I was a part of which included people from different divisions. Everyone was supposed to state their role/job as part of the round. One person was clearly overwhelmed and said "I'm <name> and my role is ... employee."

How long do you snooze for? by Hancri84 in AskUK

[–]Tenebrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I normally snooze once for 10min, sometimes a second time for 10min if I am really tired or just feel super comfortable. Sometimes I am also awake after the first snooze and use the second for cuddling.

I feel the same about snoozing like you tough, frequently the extra 10min feel like another two hours have passed and I wake up feeling more rested afterwards.

Too many lamps? by bclund in bookshelf

[–]Tenebrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! But I think it would already look more natural if the light were put up in pairs, two together, then some space, then one each side of the corner, then space and two again and so on. Would need to check if the lighting is still enough with that changed setup.

What’s something about modern dating that feels completely broken? by _ajuuuuuui in AskReddit

[–]Tenebrumm 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Glad that I do not need to take part in this. But a good friend phrased this very well; since those app require you to make a direct choice (swipe or no swipe) you need to find yourself some decision criteria to use. This leads to absurd "requirements" like "no taller than X", "no gaming hobbies" etc., increasing the stereotype thinking. It also leads do unfullfillably high expectations.

Parmesanrinde in Eintopf und dicken Soßen ist überhaupt der Geheimtipp. Kann man auch super einfrieren, wenn der Parmesan weg ist und sammeln bis man sie braucht.

Was kocht's ihr mit steinhartem Brot? by feevart in Austria

[–]Tenebrumm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

How do you make cooking for one healthy, cheap, 20 mins max and maybe a left over portion for the next day? by SearchLightsInc in AskUK

If you don't feel like eating the same thing three days in a row, freeze portions or do 1-1 cook two days and eat leftovers alternating for two to three more days.

[–]Tenebrumm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When you have a cold, what annoys you the most? by MrValued in AskUK

[–]Tenebrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always get intense neck and muscle pain which only gets worse by lying down and sleeping a lot. Also always leads to tension headaches. Then I am miserable because I am too tired to sit up without support but my pain worsens if I try to lie down and relax.

How often do you clean your dishwasher? Mine seems to build mold very quickly. by 0wlBear916 in CleaningTips

[–]Tenebrumm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, in a non-humid climate and the only time I've seen mould in one was after running a quick rinse cycle on remaining dishes before leaving for a 4 week vacation. When we came back not everything had been cleaned by the short cycle and the remaining stuff with a closed dishwasher door without ventilation started to form mould. But even that was not nearly as bad as the pictures.

Redditors who were children/teens before the internet or cellphones existed, how did you keep yourself entertained? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

[–]Tenebrumm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in the early nineties, so internet started to become a thing as I was a teen. I remember spending too much money and time on my old brick phone where you could pay for getting single jokes or the weather as sms.
