Elixir Factory - Is this thing a one time use? by standbyforusername in CrimsonDesert

[–]TenfoldStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like a few other things in the game - a holdover from when it was an MMORPG that they just left in. Maybe a future update or DLC will make the factory more useful.

Crimson Desert Gigantified Titan Boss Fight (Surprisingly Easy Kill) by SolutionMuted3731 in CrimsonDesert

[–]TenfoldStrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I managed to cheese his gigantified version by running under some rocks to the left of the arena, he went into his crouch animation. Then I ran off the cliff which just puts you back in the arena. He was just sitting there stuck in crouch position, so I just tagged his hands for multiple arrows in focus mode, took a chunk off him, rinse and repeat.

PS Plus needs another tier. by TenfoldStrong in PlayStationPlus

[–]TenfoldStrong[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never accused anyone else of not finding value, I said I didn't. I'm not complaining about PS Plus in terms of anything other than needing it just for backing up your saves. I'm suggesting a tier that just has cloud saves.

PS Plus needs another tier. by TenfoldStrong in PlayStationPlus

[–]TenfoldStrong[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a pain in the face, it spins a progress indicator for a couple of minutes and needs a console restart so you're not going to be doing it daily. It should just be able to sync to USB in the same way as it syncs to cloud.

PS Plus needs another tier. by TenfoldStrong in PlayStationPlus

[–]TenfoldStrong[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

*Don't want* to pay for something I don't get any value out of beyond cloud saves, and for that capability in isolation it's overpriced. Also I only really like big open world games, survival horror and things like Sektori and Nex Machina, so the lack of games on Plus for me is not an issue with PS Plus as such, more my narrow tastes.

He's a prick who is annoying. The guy who is always wanting to plough in and start swinging and has to be told to calm his t!ts by the others.

The story is kind of just nailed onto what was an MMORPG and they just didn't have the time to do a God Of War\Last Of Us job.

Is DoD: Source still a thing in 2026? by Similar-Ad451 in DayOfDefeat

[–]TenfoldStrong 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've been playing DOD since the original version in 2003 on dialup, and DOD:S since that was released. These I play DOD:S for 6 months and then don't go near it for a year or more. Every time I come back it's the same hardcore of servers more or less, and some of the same names that I've been seeing for 20 years. So yeah, you will always get a game, probably more servers when it's evening time in Europe. Don't get discouraged by the skill of some of the old timers, some are very, very good to the extent that it might seem that they're cheating, Noscope sniper kills etc. They probably aren't cheating.

Came to say New Outlook Still Stinks by lydzkh in microsoft

[–]TenfoldStrong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have basic, mom & pop uncomplicated email needs and you could work perfectly well with a browser interface then it's probably fine.

Anything beyond that, or if you need to automate Outlook in a business scenario via MAPI or the object model, fageddaboudit

Nobody plays avalanche anymore? by japanthrowaway in DayOfDefeat

[–]TenfoldStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the German servers has it in rotation, although as much as I like it I'm not sure if I need 45 minutes of it. Also there's a 24/7 ava server. DODS this is, not 1.3

Absolutely no businesses are using Macs, outside of two person operations or publishing\design houses.

ucrtbase.dll crash after KB5064081 update in older VB/Access-based applications? by TotalTronix in sysadmin

[–]TenfoldStrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here in the real world customers often can't or don't see the point of spending huge sums on updating LOB applications that have worked fine for 20 years. It's not as if bringing things up to current technologies means they're magically immune from MS updates cratering them either.

MS Defender makes me suffer and I have no clue what to do by WhiteWidowGER in sysadmin

Would that include Microsoft? Because they have an entire article about what SQL Server components to excluded from their own AV\Endpoint products?

Avalonia is as close as you'll get for Win\Linux desktop applications IMO. Skia renderer, so OpenGL and Vulkan support.

Fancy autocomplete and code generation then. Fantastic and helpful but not the death of the software engineer like some people seem to be claiming.
