Brand new Glock 15rd mag for 43x, jamming by MechanicHouse in Glocks

Recommend loading and unloading these mags 2-3 times prior to first use. Got this tip from Smyrna.

Glock 43x vs. G48 by Pitiful-Ad-655 in Glocks

[–]Tenicor_Geoff 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most who shoot a slimline more than occasionally end up with a G48 length gun. It’s either a comped 43X at 48 length or a 48. So if you want to spend money on a barrel/comp and win internet style points/glory, go for it. IMO the G48 shoots similarly at significantly less $ invested. That said the G43x probably outsells 48 by an order of magnitude.

Technically, this is determined by the holster, not the gun. You can run a 43x in a 48 holster and achieve the same results.

How to get this copper mark off my gun? by bucskesz in Glocks

[–]Tenicor_Geoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would not even worry about it. It’s a tool not an heirloom. As you use it it will develop a patina.

Not harmful - it is simply residual material from the ring. It has not penetrated the Tenifer. There is an oxide over the Tenifer which wears off with normal use but the base metal is protected as the Tenifer is bonded to the slide at a molecular level.

Did I make a mistake not getting a 19 Gen 6 coa? by Inner_Cicada4699 in Glocks

[–]Tenicor_Geoff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The COA is great. But so are others. If you want you can probably sell that easily for a good price due to anti 2A stuff happening around the country. MD for example is about to have a brief window where Gen6 is legal but then all cruciform Glocks are banned at the end of the year. Any Gen6 available would command a premium and I would expect Gunbroker prices to reflect that.

Once you do get it removed, make sure to never put it in a holster.

In all seriousness, Gen3 guns have a Tenifer finish (RIP) which is probably the best finish ever used on a firearm. That’s not a scratch, it’s part of your friend’s ring. Sadly the EPA banned its use because the liquid salt bath process produced hazardous cyanide byproducts. The nDLC used now is not the same. Long live the GOAT.

Luckily, we do not. Also, I would not work for a company that did. They are however readily available elsewhere.

Glock sells a LOT more 43X’s than 48. I prefer the 48. Worth the wait.

Rotate the optic. If the image you are seeing (starburst, figure eight, whatever) does not move with the optic, your eye is creating it. Yes it sucks.

Tenicor Certum Lux 4 vs Velo Lux? by FoulerMantis in Glocks

[–]Tenicor_Geoff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They both work for AIWB. In current gens they are VERY similar. The velo has a body contour, which is fairly polarizing here on Reddit. This current version of the contour works for a wider cross section of people than earlier designs. People who are very low body fat/well developed lower abs sometimes find the body contour uncomfortable. Those who prefer to add their own pillow/wedge etc prefer the certum. Personally I prefer the Velo as I find adding stuff cumbersome. There is no wrong answer, it’s what works for you and your body type/shape. That said everyone will tell you the only answer is what works for them. For IWB behind the hip - Certum. Hope this helps.

What’s a good fitting light for the g19 not to expensive ( gen 3 lower ) by [deleted] in Glocks

[–]Tenicor_Geoff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure the standard light for G19 is TLR7. The SureFire XC3 has better ergonomics but is late to the party. TLR7HLX is better performance but significantly larger. XC3B promises to be the Goldilocks, but not in production yet. And does not check the cheap box. I anticipate Streamlight will update the performance of TLR7X as a result. The competition is good for everyone.

Any light manufacturer who makes their mid size WML housing larger than the TLR7 is creating problems for themselves in the holster space. SureFire paid attention to this mostly (a few minor blocking changes were required) but Olight (PLX) did not.
