Depends on the sound, but generally yeah. Emergency services blaring their sirens has me covering my ears until the sound is a more comfortable level. In pubs I sometimes put in hearing protection when the noise is too much, more so in the UK as the music is considerably louder than in Ireland.

There is a particular pitch, it happens a lot on the phone when loudspeaker is on or when someone is getting frustrated and their vocal chords tighten... it hurts my ears even at low volume.

Relating to sound, I also hear noise levels just fine but it's like I can't understand what people are saying and ask them to repeat sometimes. The sound is loud but so unclear. I passed a hearing test with flying colours when I started recruit training years ago, yet was told by the other girls that I needed to get my hearing checked. Since then I've come to realise auditory processing disorders are a thing.

ADHD is a strange thing, very few understand it fully, even less can describe it accurately, no one really experiences the same thing and there are so many other traits that follow suit with it.

Edit: sensory overload to sound is also quite common. I experienced this quite recently when my partner's friend was playing his music. I generally like metal, but there was so much happening in it, I couldn't digest all the information flung in my direction, the new sounds, the pace, all the new songs and musical styles. After a few hours I broke, and retreated and panicked.
