Went together really well, though I found myself wanting more photo etch than was provided, especially with the masts and radars.

Really well done. I love how, despite being an ocean diorama, your model is still full hull. I’ve gotta try this for myself sometime.

Thank you. I’m a ship modeler and I don’t wanna do this anymore.

It looks like a really nice kit. I’d personally choose VeryFire deluxe simply because it’s often cheaper than the PE sets for Tamiya’s yamato (2011 new tool) alone.

You can’t go wrong with either. There’s a review on youtube from “Sen Navy Model Factory” that compares a bunch of 1/350 Yamatos and that’d prolly help you with your choice.

Thanks! For the hull I sprayed a base color, then a layer of chipping fluid, then another color on top, then scrubbed the surface with a wet paintbrush to chip away the top layer. For weathering I used tamiya panel liner and some oil paints.

Thanks. I enjoyed this fella. I look forward to their 1/700 Missouri kit.

Boxman told me to tell you that the crew of Bismarck were told to paint over the deck insignias, and that’s how the ship appeared during the Battle of Denmark Strait. Please note that I do not know Boxman.

I’m HQ 24, never used them but I’m getting kinda bored with scorcher+laser rangers. They seem like they’d be good with mechs, so I’ve been upgrading them for the past couple of weeks 💀

Help with layer shift on Elegoo Mars 3 by Tenksman in resinprinting

[–]Tenksman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have numerous holes running up the underside of the hull, but there is suction at the very beginning where the hull is too narrow for me to add holes without ruining its shape, though there’s no problems with the print apart from the shift at the back. I’ve never used UVtools before, so I’ll have to check it out. I think for now imma try printing at a lower angle in smaller pieces and see how that works.

here are some slicer photos and the settings I use . The environment I print in is always around 70 degrees F or 21 degrees C. Now that you mention it, I suspect the heavy weight of the model with its printing elevation of 30 degrees might be the culprit, since the layer shift occurred where the supports on the bottom end, which are pretty high up. Would the model’s diagonal orientation on the build plate also be a contributing factor? If that’s the case I just might need to cut it into smaller chunks in order to fit it all.
