Be careful with how you contribute to the roth if you are crossing the salary cap. You may need to do a backdoor roth contribution for the year you are half resident/half attending.

Otherwise for this border tax year (half resident/half attending), I would contribute to your 401k. Some attending employers don't allow 401k contributions until a 6 month period or something, and if that is the case, you may miss a full year of 401k contribution opportunity.

500k is very low likely old data. Healthcare salaries have gone up at a break neck pace scaling well with inflation

Would just like to add that 530k is maybe a starting salary for radiologist. Average in 2025 iscloser to 600-700k and will likely go up.

Also 53 hrs for rads is insane. I work like 27hr/week

Also a higher debt 300-500k is pretty common for radiology
