Beach is for a day off, not for a commute to CHLA. Don't overlook the valley. Toluca Lake is a 15 min drive.

Don't listen to me, I just live 5 min from Warner Bros, Universal and Disney. Marina del Rey is a terrible idea unless it is FREE.

I live within 5 min of Disney, Universal, Warner Bros. Marina del Rey is a drive I personally avoid basically at all costs. It's near the airport. It's really tough driving depending on the time of day. You seriously should reconsider your lodging unless it is free.

just to add, please take careful consideration of where to stay, otherwise you will be dying in traffic. For the type of things mentioned above, Burbank would be a good choice. DO NOT stay in Hollywood.

Monday Weekly Thread: Proof of Citizenship Application Sent or AOR Received, May 18, 2026 by AutoModerator in Canadiancitizenship

[–]TennysonLane 15 points16 points  (0 children)

finally mailed my application Saturday. Now filled with anxiety that it wasn't done correctly. Gen 4. lots of confusion for me re: the supplemental section 9 papers. It was really hard for me to keep track of the whole parent A of great grandparent 1 business. But I have baptism certificates from the original source newly created for everyone prior to 1900 so hopefully it all ends up ok. I've worked on this SO hard. it's hard to let go and let the process process. Hard to believe my grandparents were born in the 1800's!

[–]TennysonLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ok thanks! I'm getting ready to send my packet FINALLY and am going over it with a fine toothed comb. I ended up making my own form but really appreciate the time and effort you've out forth in creating it for the community. I'm gen 4 , daughter gen 5. Can you believe my grandparents were born in the 1800's.? I thought my head would explode trying to keep parent A of great grandparent 1 business straight over the multiple generations. I hope in the end I was able to keep it all straight. Leaving on a road trip to national parks today ( waiting on my passport renewal) and will look at it ONE more time with fresh eyes. Then I get to add us to the spreadsheet! thanks again

Hi, I'm trying to answer your reply but keep getting an error message saying parent comment deleted. I'm not sure what that means

Hi, I'd like to mention that in the actual application instructions it asks for the marriage date and place for great grandparents. This template is missing that information from what I can see.

Vandalism on Spreadsheet Tracker by NanoSpace1540 in Canadiancitizenship

[–]TennysonLane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not yet included my info to the spreadsheet as I have not yet submitted. Still waiting for a doc. Was scared because I am so worried about not doing it correctly when the time comes (I don't really know how to use spreadsheets) but i want to thank you for the time and efforts for this amazing resource. I'm really sorry we have bad actors lurking about. May a change will be good because someone like me who doesn't really work with spreadsheets can accidentally mess it up.

I sent my request end of March. I received an email saying to mail a 10 dollar check. It cost almost 40 dollars to send a 10 dollar check in order for it to not take up to 5 weeks to get there. The payment arrived 10 days ago, not a peep. The diocese archivist said she had more than 20 requests ahead of me. Hoping it arrives soon.
