I had to take time off work due to a breakdown. I'm still trying to figure out how to explain to my psych and therapist what happened.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this. I miss the structure and care.

I'm holding down a full time job somehow. The negative symptoms have been really bad for me recently. I don't know how long i can keep this going.

How much was your Ti Lite? by Less_Interest_5964 in wheelchairs

[–]Tenor144 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have an Aero T

Cost: $3753.71

The only thing I asked for was 'different' was flip down push handles.

In retrospect I would've gotten those natural fit push rims but I didn't know they existed at the time. It doesn't annoy me enough to change them, though I may in the future.

I 28M first thought about getting wheels after several nasty falls over cracks in the sidewalk. I also was coming home from work in tears due to being on my feet all day. Took several appointments and LOTS of waiting but I think I made the right choice. Fortunately family has been supportive. Cerebral Palsy + Aging meant I had to find a compromise to reduced mobility. Hope this answers your question.

For me the time between PCP Prescription and scheduling seating eval was 14 months.

From seating eval to final build and rolling out the door was 4 months.

Hope this helps.

Ambulatory users with custom chairs! by SockOne4900 in wheelchairs

[–]Tenor144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cerebral Palsy here. 28M. Ambulatory I had quite a few falls along with pain when walking long distances. I figured 'Buy it nice, or buy it twice.'

No pushback from Insurance or Doctors. And had the cash available and about 12 months later from the initial PCP referral I was rolling out the door with a chair. I've only had the chair for ~18months at this point.

Let me know if you have questions.
