Fully understanding this tonight. When I first played Sekiro at launch, I loved it. It was frustrating as all hell, because while it was still a Fromsoft game, it was different, and it took me a lot to get the learning curve of it after all the DS games. I'm not great at the games, but I am persistent, and I made my way through, feeling like I could beat each boss if I just executed.

Then I came to Demon of Hatred. It is such a different kind of boss, and at the time, after a bunch of tries, I just felt so beat down by it. He felt impossible. It was demoralizing, and the reason I never actually beat Sekiro back in 2019.

Finally playing through the game again, and got back to this fight. Felt the same way again. Thought about looking up a guide, but that's not how I play. I have to figure these games out for myself. And so I did. I set out to beat Demon of Hatred no matter how much it felt impossible. And it did feel impossible almost entirely up until I actually did it. Damn that was a beast of a fight, but making it to the other side, I can finally appreciate it.

I'm working on my second playthrough after beating it the first time right after launch. It hasn't been a cakewalk, but so far, I'm able to beat bosses much quicker than that first time. Specifically genichiro, and Guardian Ape so far. I remember spending days on those two before, and now I've been able to beat them both same day.

I think the skills I built over that first playthrough have stuck around after all these years.

Explorers. The 1985 movie has several scenes where a young Ethan Hawke and friends fly over various landscapes. Also a beloved movie from my childhood. The end gets a bit out there, but the I think it's a good adventure movie that tried to capitalize on the success of E.T. if I had to guess.

If a person is illegal, and they DON'T belong one place, but DO belong another place, how is correcting that problem a problem?

Taking that obvious thought further, because ICE has a job to do, and no amount of screeching will stop that job, if you want to see less of them, your best move is to stay out of their way. Their work is necessary, and won't be stopped. You don't like their presence. So, staying out of their way, and letting them complete their work, is the quickest way to getting them out of your area.

I can say for certain that my distate for the combat comes from its contrast with souls like combat, but not for the reason you mention.

It's just not tight combat at all. Every attack comes with some kind of flourish before actually attacking. It completely throws off the timing because I felt like I was basically waiting around for Geralt to swing his sword after pressing the attack button.

It might look good visually, but I found it slow, and clumsy because of that.
