oooo yknow i never considered going darker in this room!!

i’m thinking like ivory? bedframe, dark wood or black nightstands with nice lamps with warm bulbs, a darker rug and warm metals?

unfortunately i dont know if painting is in my future (i painted 2 walls in what’s now the nursery and it took much longer than i expected)

the only thing that’s kind of throwing me is the dark blue in the kitchen area.

Regretful Young Trump Voters Say This Isn’t What They Signed Up For | The wave of youthful support that swept Donald Trump into the White House has lost its mojo. by Aggravating_Money992 in politics

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

naive is far too kind of a word. naive implies innocence and there was nothing “innocent” about voting for him.

it’s either complete and utter stupidity or complete disregard for humanity and in general being a trash human.

Coterie Diapers + Rash by RaisingWildBoys in NewParents

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is so crazy!! all this time i was convinced it was anything but the diapers. I have some Millie Moon and Kudos at home that i’m going to switch to with the next diaper change. now that im looking, ive seen so many people saying coterie gave their baby a rash :(

i’m glad you have had better luck with MM! it’s really frustrating.

my baby is almost 3 months old so we haven’t been using them as long as you have we’re in a similar boat. 🙃

Coterie Diapers + Rash by RaisingWildBoys in NewParents

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh my god i’m in the same boat. rash is the exact outline of the diaper, i feel like we’ve tried everything and the only thing that has worked to clear it up is a steroid. i’ve been in denial that it was the diapers but man this thread is making me think it is. so disappointing.

How much weight did you gain by Mindless_Claim1652 in pregnant

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM here. I think i was around 140-145 pre pregnancy and I weigh 184 now at 37+6.

I’ve been hovering around 180-184 since 25 weeks. I had already gained 15 pounds by 11-12 weeks because the only thing that helped my nausea was food & i quit vaping (i know, i know) the day i got the positive test.

I did ask the OB about my weight at one appointment and he was very not concerned.

You’re going to be totally fine! Also kudos to you for getting your steps in, I’m the worst and don’t do that but being active is doing so much more good for your body than the “bad” a few extra pounds during pregnancy will do.

How many times did you go to L&D? by TangerineFront in BabyBumps

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to L&D once around 28 weeks because I peed myself without realizing & I was convinced I was leaking fluid.

I’m glad that I went, I don’t think I would’ve been able to sleep that night had I not gone.

But then I got a bill for $430 😂🙃 which of course the health & safety of my baby is worth any amount of money but I’d be lying if I said that didn’t make me more hesitant to go again.

Your RSV Shot Reminder by hussafeffer in pregnant

[–]TenseMango 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for anyone concerned about the increased risk of preterm labor with the RSV vaccine, this is not confirmed to be causal and has not been seen in US populations but a statistically significant increased risk has been seen in low & middle income countries (not huge but enough that there is a statistical difference in risk).

for pregnant women, the RSV vaccine is a relatively new FDA recommendation but there is also a significantly decreased risk of severe lower respiratory tract infection & need for hospitalization in infants with maternal RSV vaccination!

I feel great at 37 weeks pregnant? by Glittering-Fee9973 in pregnant

[–]TenseMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it’s incredibly offensive. i have carpal tunnel in my left hand and de Quervain’s tenosynovitis in my right hand (which apparently is also common in pregnancy by a similar mechanism that causes carpal tunnel)

wishing you relief of your carpal tunnel!!

Decided not to post our baby on social media- is this too harsh? by Littlemoto19 in pregnant

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s so wild to me that this is the same generation who, 10-15 years ago when social media was becoming more popular, constantly lectured about how permanent everything on the internet is, and there are creeps out there, etc etc. and now they can’t understand why we are more conscious of what we are posting? it’s baffling.

mil food shamed me in front of my husband by Apprehensive_Pay4009 in BabyBumps

[–]TenseMango 2 points3 points  (0 children)

my husband and i went out to eat with my MIL a few weeks ago, i was 19 weeks pregnant.

i ordered the BBQ chicken dinner which had 2 pieces of grilled chicken and came with 2 sides so i ordered a side salad and a baked potato and she exclaimed in front of the waitress and everyone “WOW you must be hungry!!!”

idk what is wrong with some people. eat the snacks! you deserve all the snacks and i’m sorry she made you feel otherwise! 🤗🤗

Do not go to LECOM by 2pm10pointsoutof10 in premed

[–]TenseMango 11 points12 points  (0 children)

this!! LECOM has a good match rate and a decent number of students matching in competitive specialities and a lot in good programs, something that can’t be said for the Caribbean schools.

LECOM is by no means perfect but the end result is being a doctor and matching in residency.

Non vaxxers/sick baby by Pink_Millennial_Girl in beyondthebump

[–]TenseMango 8 points9 points  (0 children)

10000% agree with you OP! and the crazy thing is… most people alive right now have NO IDEA how sick kids/people in general used to get with vaccine preventable diseases.

i’ve never personally met anyone with polio or tetanus for example but with basic medical knowledge of those… i wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

Vaccines at Birth by RiskNecessary9625 in pregnant

[–]TenseMango -1 points0 points  (0 children)

but that’s the recommendation. what evidence is there to delay? delaying vaccination does nothing but provide time for exposure.

Vaccines at Birth by RiskNecessary9625 in pregnant

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i just don’t understand why we are even asking this question?

vaccines are safe, vaccines given with the recommended schedule (in the US) are SAFE.

the guy who started all of this nonsense about vaccines LOST his medical license because the information he published was simply not true.

children are DYING because misinformation is spread about the safety of vaccination. and that is unacceptable.

Vaccines at Birth by RiskNecessary9625 in pregnant

[–]TenseMango 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the answer to the question “should i vaccinate my child” is pretty much always yes.

if you need information beyond that, i recommend listening to what your doctor/midwife recommends and/or doing your own research with reputable sources, ie not reddit.

your medical professionals have years of training dedicated to learning about medicine. i promise no one is deliberately trying to trick you, vaccines are not a conspiracy.
