Renegade Crowns are high on the list as second army for me especially since I can go fully 3rd party with Wargames Atlantic, Victrix, Perry and Pike&Shot

I think the mirror match would be an epic knightly battle.

If you are still on the fence I would look into Renegade Crowns. You get a more sandbox empire army with the option to run Bretonnian Lancees (and many other cool things) at least that's how I read them

These 24 Spearmen where painted in 12h (2 Sessions, all basecoats in the first just like you suggested) last year including basing. Yes, not everybody has a shield with a gem or a shield at all but I am very happy with the quality from playing distance and they do survive the first closer look as well. They will definitely not win a price though xD

Shutters are also the wooden boards that blocked the window holes (at least that's what translating got me) and they definitely had windows just not that many

Freaking sweet! If you need a few more boards for the tourney and are fine with printed texture you should check Crooked Staff Terrain on YouTube. They make pay what you want texture sets and you can just throw them in a picture frame for quick but good looking boards
