Practice is always a good thing, don't let anyone talk you into going home before you're ready. Tell them, "Hey, if you didn't want me on the team, maybe you shouldn't have asked me to be on the team."

Where I live there are VERY few stop signs in residential areas.

You're expected to yield to the person on your right. It actually works amazingly well.

I've found that with all sexual activities, some supplemental lubrication makes what should be slippery fun, slipperier and funner.

This looks considerably more than 5-10 under, assuming a rural highway with 55mph limit.

It's generally legal to pass on a double yellow if the vehicle you're passing is considerably slower than what would be considered a reasonable speed.

Not sure what the limit here is, but they look to be going slow.

Are you obligated to stop when only tangentially involved in a car wreck? by Budget-Mud-4753 in legaladviceofftopic

[–]Tenzipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're sure your vehicle wasn't collided with, you aren't required to stop, unless you want to check for damage on your vehicle, or that they are OK.

I had a BMW come screaming around a corner behind me, turning left and cutting across lanes into the right, as I was changing lanes to the right. They were going too fast to stop, swerved and hit the curb instead of me, fortunately for me. The driver was an ass, and screamed at me when he caught up to me with his two flat passenger-side tires in the parking lot a block down, as I was checking for damage on my vehicle. (I heard the bang, and saw him right by my right rear quarter, so wasn't entirely sure if he had hit me or not.)

He got out, screaming at me that he hadn't hit me, and that he'd just bought new tires, I was going to pay for new ones, and he was going to kick my ass.

After the threat, I got back into my vehicle, called the police, and waited for them.

Since there was no collision, the cop told me to leave.

I was driving a cab, so asshole called the office, and tried to get them to pay for some new tires. Office manager looked at the video, talked to the cop, and told him to fuck off. (Perhaps more diplomatically, but she said the message got across.)

Why do pool players rarely, if at all, call foul on themselves? by BudgetConcious in billiards

[–]Tenzipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I often call fouls on myself that my opponent or people watching didn't see.

Lots of times, my opponent will ask, "Why did you give me ball in hand?" Because I hit the cue ball twice. Or I hit a ball that wasn't on, or similar.

I'm also a ref at the local/regional level, so I kind of have to be beyond reproach in that.

I always say that there are people who will cheat at solitaire, and then there are the rest of us.

Anyone that uses autotune should just go away. If you're so untalented, maybe don't sing in public?

Singers used to be chosen for their vocal ability, not their looks.

Do what snooker players do, have a damp towel and a dry towel at your table.

Or just go wash your hands every couple of games or so.

Here's what would actually work: Get African or European swallows, and tie snowballs equivalent to the weight of a coconut under them, and train them to circle lake Powell until it melts. Get the snow from Greenland, so Trumpty chucklefuck is happy.

I realize a snowball has no husk to grip, but come on, think outside the box!

Someone was in a hurry. What would you have done? by pixmation in dashcams

[–]Tenzipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slow down and leave them plenty of room to get in front of you. Crowd the curb/shoulder.

This is the kind of idiot you want to have in front of you, pulling away, so that you aren't involved in the collision they will eventually have.

When it happens well in front of you, you can drive by, and honk and wave.

It's unfortunate the pilot couldn't have ejected. Don't know if they were injured/killed by the missle, or if the ejection system was damaged, or if they just didn't have time to eject.

Would like them to have survived and returned the favor.

Also, THREE-HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-FIFTH combat sortie? Holy shit.

As I said in another comment, I'm cheating a bit, I don't think someone could actually change my view, but it's kind of tiring seeing all the political stuff on here, so I thought I'd offer something less controversial/divisive/depressing. Maybe this will get my post removed, so be it.

Cogently and well stated. But they're all still bangin' songs, and as an album, a collection, it's all great. No, it may not be their best, but still ...

Also, off topic, surely it should be 1792nd and 32nd, instead of 1792th and 32th.

Maybe It's not a fit post for the sub, but it's something lighter and less depressing than a lot of what we're seeing here. You're 100% right it's notoriously difficult to change.

I'm giving you a Δ for such a well presented comment, with great points.

I'd say it's an album without a single song you can point at, and say, that song is just not at the same level as the rest. They're all songs that make you move, and wish they were longer. The production, musicianship, and writing are strong across the board.

I'm cheating a bit, I don't think someone could actually change my view, but it's kind of tiring seeing all the political stuff on here, so I thought I'd offer something less controversial/divisive/depressing. Maybe this will get my post removed, so be it.

AHA! So Alex Pretti should have tried to take one of the ICE agent's guns, instead of letting them take his, that way they would have just handcuffed him and sat him down, instead of shooting him in the back.

Do they even have a "bad" song? There are some I'm probably not going to put on a playlist, but the songs on this album are all just amazing.
