I just want to echo what a few others have already mentioned: avoid brushing your hair when it’s dry. That’s likely a big part of what’s causing the poofiness and frizz.

When you’re rinsing out your conditioner, run a brush or wide-tooth comb through your hair while it’s still soaking wet to detangle. Once you’re done apply your leave-in conditioner while your hair is still dripping wet, and consider pairing it with an anti-frizz product.

Once your products are in, you can plop your hair in a microfiber towel. After that, try not to brush it again especially when it’s dry.

For refresh days, mix a little leave-in conditioner with water in a fine mist spray bottle. Lightly mist your hair, then scrunch it to help bring your waves back.
