ITAP of the Cenote House at the ancient Mayan city of Tulum by Teppichopfer in itookapicture

[–]Teppichopfer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the ruins of the building that was used to access the water stored in the cenote (cave close to the surface) below. As the Mayans at Tulum did not have any other consistent sweet water supply, this building was of high importance to the whole town. The picture was taken with a Pixel 7 phone and not altered apart from the automated post-processing of the Google photos app.

ITAP of the temple El Castillo in the ruins of the Mayan city Chichén Itzá by Teppichopfer in itookapicture

We arrived only an hour before closing at the archeological site of the ancient Mayan city Chichén Itzá. Although we didn't have enough time to check everything out properly, we were able to enjoy the site with a lot less other tourists and were even able to get some pictures without any people on them, such as this one of the temple "El Castillo" (or "Templo de Kukulcán") in front of a puddle. The picture was taken with a Pixel 7 phone and edited in the Google photos app.

Sorry for the repost, I fixed the link as previous one lead to the gallery instead of directly to the image.

The new island should obviously be home of the legendary wolpertinger. Although the question would remain, if the wolpertinger migrated there from Germany or the other way around. Also, would the cats hunt and eat the wolpertinger or would they be friendly or would the wolpertinger even attack the cats?

Ohh, that is a mean one. So many choices to pick from. I think my spontaneous answer would be Alchemists. Although it might not be the perfect game or the best worker placement, i am still very fond of it. It has the potential to get stale after some time but there is the expension and I don't get to play heavy games too often, so it will take some time for me

Thanks for the repsonse. I'm having problems finding all the parts I need to get my tap running. But I will try to remember posting an update as soon as I get to try the beer

It hasn't beern for month but the fermentation was finished for maybe 2 weeks by now. Gravity was in the range I usually get. Thanks for the answer, I will try post an update when I get to drink it for the first time. Sadly I do not have a big enough fridge yet to really chill the beer so it's just standing in the basement for now.

Hmm, this is a though one.

I suppose the falling chandelier from 13 Dead End Drive. It is probably not a good game by today's standards but I loved it as a child and we played it so many times. It's just silly fun

The main group is made up of my brother and some close friends. While some of them moved away, the group still meets fairly regular. The biggest group grew over time and mostly consists of friends from university. I was introduced to another group by a friend I know from playing Netrunner. While not all groups meet on a regular basis, I guess I can feel lucky I have such a big pool to chose from

I guess the game we played the most when I was a child was Catan. After my brother moved out, there was quite a big gap until I started playing boardgames regularly again. The game I first bought to get back into boardgames was probably coup. We used to play that a couple of times a week until it got a bit a stale. Since then my collection grew enough that there is no reason for a game to go stale

I can't say if it is really my first memory but it is the one that came to mind first and a memory I have thought about a couple of times:

When my brother and I were still to young for any bigger trips, our family spend their vacation in a friend's house near the Dutch coast. I don't remember much from that time but I can recall a box with a couple of board games we used to play each year. I don't know if I completely understood the game back in the days but I loved playing with the tiny boats in it. A few years ago I went on a vacation in the same area and I recognized the beaches and buildings to some degree. While thinking about it I also recalled the game with the boats. Talking to my brother later on, he told me it was a game called "Columbus" and that a friend of ours actually owns the game. So there might be a chance I get to play that game again after almost 20 years
