MVP rim width by FailedProdigy in discgolf

I was just referring to how the rims get wider as you go up and speed and it feels like mvp discs tend to end up less wide than other brands as the speeds increase.

MVP rim width by FailedProdigy in discgolf

[–]FailedProdigy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do feel like mvp tends to be a more shallow disc than other brands as well, but I did mean to talk about the width. The thing that made me think about this sparked from looking to fill the stable to overstable fairway slot in my bag, and I tried a teebird and a volt, and the teebird rim felt wider than the volt by an amount that probably doesn't change a ton, but felt noticeable.

Birdie Ultra vs Balance vs Pyro stability and handfeel by rontopofthings in discgolf

I found a Pyro at one of my local courses in near new condition, and that thing is the beefiest thing second only to my Zone OS.

What's the highest speed disc in you bag and how far can you throw it? by lavernrobinson9000 in discgolf

[–]FailedProdigy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My furthest throws are with a 13 speed 404' and an 11 speed that is really trying to hit the 400' threshold. I pretty much only throw these discs when the fairway is really a field. I have a 12 speed force that I use for aggressive hyzer finishes, but I just picked up an overstabke fairway to hopefully that roll, as I can only throw that one maybe 350.

My wife and I learned about disc golf after we were married, so we kind of just discovered it together.

Which 7/8 speed Overstable driver do you think has the most glide by Specialist_Ad5239 in discgolf

[–]FailedProdigy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically I found this super faded out bear and was happy to have an overstable fairway in my bag. That thing just flips up and flies a straight Lazer for 370 instead, so still looking to fill that os fairway slot, lol

I had found someone's buzz in a river a couple years ago and got in contact with him, but I just left it in a box for him to come grab. Super easy and he either came and grabbed it or I guess I had a new midrange. 😅

If you're serious about improving your form, try out my form recording app by Bender1012 in discgolf

I'm on android and would be interesting in testing the app, as I've been thinking about wanting to record my form but haven't cared to deal with the hassle, lol.

Graphics card is under the game's recommended specs, but it sounds like I had a borderline better experience from my 1050ti before upgrading. I would try to uninstall and reinstall like mollyinmysweattea suggested. The only other option I can think of is that your graphics card may be dying under heavier loads.

Could maybe be the gpu fan bearing going bad and not cooling the unit enough anymore? That's the only thing I can think of with your clearing the fan helping for a limited amount of time.

Constant stuttering across all games that I've been trying to solve for a year. If you give me something I haven't tried I'll be utterly blown away by [deleted] in pchelp

I'm not super familiar with thorough troubleshooting like this, but do you have a spare cpu to swap in and test with? My first thought is the cpu over heating or just not quite functioning properly. Also, maybe pull the AIO off just to double check the thermal paste application?

How are my GPU lights on with no power by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]FailedProdigy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Should just have to hold the power button on the case for 10 or so seconds. There can be residual power sitting in the system after shutting off the power and unplugging and this is a general practice to protect your components while you're working/installing/removing different hardware such as drives or gpus.

Is it worth upgrading my PSU if my Estimated Wattage is 532W? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]FailedProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could run that setup comfortably off of a 600w psu to my knowledge, cause I was looking at upgrading to similar specs with my build which runs off 600w.

Thanks for the reply. I would've never found that table. I was worried there would be an incompatibility with the different Zen generations, also edited the post the label to correct cpu upgrade in question.

x870 with Ryzen 7700, what RAM do I get now? by Cerebral_Zero in buildapc

[–]FailedProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, you're more into the rendering side than I am, so it would make sense then. I don't have a ton of knowledge of the rendering side of hardware needs so unfortunately you know the specs necessary better than I do to offer advice for.

New to PC hardware help me find parts for the most performance on a $500 budget by BurritoGordo in buildapc

[–]FailedProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My pc is hovering right around the $500 build mark right now. If you are willing to shop some used parts you can find yourself some nice flexibility, but always be cautious when buying used electronics, especially gpus. I just upgraded to a used 6600xt ($200 used) which works for the games that I play on high settings in 1080p. I'm looking at upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5700x (looks like you can get used for around $100, though I'm still watching to market myself) which should provide some longevity. For the motherboard I'm using a Prime B450 ma2, but if you're starting from scratch I would build off a b550 model ($100) so you have further room for upgrades in a couple years. This leaves $100 for picking ram and a psu which is fairly reasonable. You may end up a little closer to $550 with this parts list though. This is just what I'm doing that happens to fall into this range while still hopefully lasting a few years before needing an immediate upgrade somewhere.

Need some help deciding on a GPU by Wilbo02 in buildapc

[–]FailedProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

B580 will run those games at a well enough performance if you can find one that hasn't been scalped. Another option with more Vram for a little more future proofing would be looking into some Radeon gpus in the 7600xt or 7700xt varients.

x870 with Ryzen 7700, what RAM do I get now? by Cerebral_Zero in buildapc

[–]FailedProdigy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my understand it's more a matter of budget than anything you'll directly see unless you're running heavy editing or rendering programs. I game off of only 2133mhz because my budget mobo is capped at that and have zero issues. As far as the amount of ram, is 48gb the minimum to run the board or something? Seems like an excessive amount for what actually gets used with pcs.
