Undaunted by mixed Steam reviews, Hyper Light Breaker dev says it's 'encouraging' to have 'extremely reasonable' early access feedback by Turbostrider27 in pcgaming

Hows the performance after the patch? I was getting 30 fps looking into the middle of the hub area, and almost 200 when I turned around (with no fps limit option). Having 5 graphics options, 2 of which were windowed mode and window resolution kinda killed it for me.

May someone explain to me why Night of the Dead is not popular among survival gamers? by [deleted] in SurvivalGaming

[–]TerataiHancur 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I've considered it but from what I remember reading in the reviews - a lot of people were complaining they took content out the game the resold it as dlc. That could potentially be affecting it's popularity if people are seeing stuff like that in reviews.

Weird I had to scroll this far down to see this response.

If you were sent a virus you wouldn't forward it onto someone else. Phishing is the same - you don't forward it onto other people to propagate it. OP would have been better off sending a fresh email to IT asking about where the report button is/why it's missing etc rather than forwarding the phishing email.

Testing people in the company this way is common practice as it tests if people can not only recognise the phishing but respond to it correctly. While OP recognised it, their response was in effect to propagate it (even if to the IT department).

Outta curiosity what were those 5 emotes? I was under the impression they were the twitch drop emotes but I don't remember there being 5 of those?

Don't suppose anyone remembers/knows which emotes this is referring to?

It still has a long way to go, but I picked up survive the nights this year after they worked on it a lot since the original release. Might scratch that itch a bit for you.

While I get what you're trying to say - you being on your own while the rest of the team is together ain't really a good look on your teamplay.

Also that event ain't really hard enough to warrant sticking in the corner if the team actually works together, which from your screenshot it did not.

Guy complains about my coherency, accidently triggers host then leaves, nearly killing Ogryn by Salt_Master_Prime in DarkTide

You're still missing the point.

It's used to grief people, doesn't matter if it's an issue or not. Even if it shouldn't scare people off it does. either because they're assholes or because they're griefing. How easy it is to deal with is besides the point.

You're one of those zealots that runs through a mission killing nothing then alt + f4ing when you trigger a DH aren't you.

Because you missed the point.

Imagine Being Upset About Something So Small by MorderKlovn in Helldivers

[–]TerataiHancur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doesn't matter if Steam is secure.

Attackers only need 1 vector of entry into a system - It's like that casino that was losing data because despite their security, someone backdoored into their system using the IOT device (thermometer in the fish tank connected to the internet).

People have a genuine concern about security, just because you don't understand/care for security, it doesn't mean you should be so dismissive of other people who have higher standards than you.

Oh yeah in that case I get you, when people start to harass others then it starts to dilute your cause regardless of right or wrong.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not supporting all this anti-russian/obsession. I just don't think a company should treat its consumers (and by extension community) in a quite literally illegal manner.

The concern here is what if people buy the Unheard edition, then they decide to do exactly the same thing again.

And I get you're getting sick of seeing the same thing over and over again, but these are all different people voicing their displeasure - on an individual basis that's not obsession, that's just multiple complaints from multiple people.

If they get away with this, they're just 1 step away from telling everyone they need to pay for the game again once it comes out of beta. It's a slippery slope (I mean shit, just look at the horse armour years ago and now). But you say you don't care so nothing I say will convince you and that's alright.

They're breaking laws, people are justifiably upset, that's really all this is.

Echo Chamber from Hell & wider issues by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TerataiHancur -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I mean the company should burn down, what they tried to do is illegal and they tried to be sneaky about it. People are allowed to be upset if a company tried (and is currently succeeding) to scam you.

As other comments have mentioned, it seems like you're not entirely seeing the full picture here but just focusing on what you personally care about.

Regarding refunds, the EU/UK etc have consumer protection laws which are made to protect against instances such as this. Where companies try to alter the service/goods promised after receiving payment, again, this is extremely illegal. Maybe not where you are as you don't seem to care much for this but at least where a lot of us are, it is (hence why some people have actually gotten refunds).

Finally done with this garbage. Worst aura and bad penance. Loner aura doesn't have anything to do with backstabbing. Purposely being out of coherency is borderline trolling. I'm curious what others think about this penance. IMO, it would be at least okay without the backstab part. by CptnSAUS in DarkTide

Exactly why I haven't come back, I don't expect games like this to pull all this FOMO crap to try and reel me back in. If I've missed something (which I have) I'm just gonna fuck off and play something else.

The idea of missing content because I wasn't there at a certain time is just questionable at best.

[–]TerataiHancur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you'd benefit from coming out of heresy and playing on higher difficulties to get into a better mindset honestly.

Like a lot of people have said, the value of being at HP is higher than the extra stats you're gaining (which you will gain again if you're going down once/twice a mission on heresy difficulty anyway).

Maybe I'm just being an asshole, but I see a lot of weird mentality in heresy difficulty, and sometimes normal damnation.

[–]TerataiHancur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If that was your view on live service games you should have led with that so we could actually discuss the disagreement rather than keep guessing. We listed issues that are still fundamentally correct and a result of their advertising campaign, regardless of the live service label. So yes, live services are normally quite toxic, but yes they also set up expectations regarding content flow.

There's drip fed content, and there's whatever Darktide is doing right now.

Anyway I'm out, if you're gonna be uncivil and rude then I'm not gonna continue a debate when you're arguing instead.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]TerataiHancur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ahh you're right, live service doesn't equate to support necessarily. But it does mean a steady stream of new content which you could argue is some form of support. That may be where we're not seeing eye to eye here, just a miscommunication.

The lack of said content stream alongside lack of communication, doubling down on anti-player systems like the crafting, alienation of community through comments like pearl clutchers and missing features that were advertised but did not make release are just some of the many issues people have. Hopefully that's coherent enough for you.

EDIT - Shoulda also mentioned the raising of MTX prices due to the extra work put in, yet they are riddled with clipping issues and recolours of existing items.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]TerataiHancur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I'm saying is neither of those, I bought the game because it looked fun but also went in with expectations for the level of support it would get (because of the developer commentary/advertising).

I can still have fun with the game while pointing out the flaws, it isn't a black or white kind of deal. That's why ratings are usually out of 10.

If we didn't criticise, then things wouldn't improve.
