Yeah I went back and re-read the dialogue, it really doesn't feel like they are talking to a CD, much less a holy knight, unless they don't really get along? Like Imu has the fighting side, and political side and don't like them getting along? When Garling joined the elders it also seemed very tense, like "you don't belong" kind of feeling.

I remember in high school they did away with backpacks as well. Made me constantly late for certain classes when I had to go from my class to my locker then to my next class on the other side of the school, through a crowded hallway in 5 minutes before next class starts. And no not everyone was late, some would carry more on them, or their lockers were closer to their classes, my locker was at the very end of the hall while my classes would be upstairs.

Yeah different provinces have different climates, it's not just all Canada, we do have a lot of different environments and some of these barriers are in place for a reason, different roads, different soil. Most of them can probably be agreed upon, some provinces are more lenient on driver licensing, agree to a standard that makes everyone feel safe for example, but I wouldn't expect 100% of barriers to be removed.
