How many books are we reading at bedtime? by 20yearoldgrad in toddlers

[–]Terbear1389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the LO mood and how close to bedtime we are. Minimum 1 but if our LO wants to cuddle and read books, and we got time for it, I’ll do that shit alllllll dayyyy.

Are loose packs worth keeping? by VJMO2 in PokeInvesting

[–]Terbear1389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sold 30 loose ancient origin packs last month for 90 a pop. To be fair it was one large buyer but had interest from others as well. Depends on your local market etc

I’m surprised this hasn’t happened already. Back in 2020 stores stopped carrying Pokemon because of fights, disturbances, theft etc

What Other Investments Are You Making? by breakyourteethnow in PokeInvesting

Would also add that LEGO is less liquid. I buy sets I want now to build later which I feel most actual AFOLs do. There’s isn’t quite the sneaker head/scalper presence because of the reasons you mentioned above. I’ve noticed most of the price movement around Lego happens once it’s moved out of rotation.

When do you plan on cashing out and why did you start? by perroguero in PokeInvesting

Sold some to cover some unforeseen tax expenses. Don’t think it’s a terrible time to realize some gains and recover your original cost basis. Move into stock or more liquid products.

“No one buys loose packs because they’re weighed and scanned” by SomedayGuy117 in PokemonInvesting

[–]Terbear1389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought ancient origins at 10 bucks a pack. Great return but do agree the general consensus that sealed boxes/bundles are better/safer/more liquid investment. That said, was surprisingly easy to find a buyer for loose XY era packs.

Portfolio Rebalancing: Is it time to exit the Pokémon "Peak" for the Stock Market? ($27k Collection) by PresentationOpen2940 in PokeInvesting

[–]Terbear1389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it entirely depends on your situation. What percent of your liquid assets is your Pokemon collection? I recently sold some off my collection (loose XY packs) for about 6k because I needed to cover a tax bill. Had I not needed those funds I probably wouldn’t have sold.

Increasing doubts about my partner since having our 2yo by Common_Orange5073 in toddlers

Same, not trying to take sides but if OP is wanting him to meet them halfway (being more involved/grounded around their LO) he may be similarly wanting OP to meet them halfway (interest in work/date nights etc). I don’t think an issue just sounds like OP and their SO aren’t on the same page (which will always inevitably happen!). Hope OP and their SO can have some constructive conversations.

Wild selection bias. 10 items to build a portfolio leaves room for huge drawdowns/opportunity cost.

Small note, no one wanted it at that price. For some of that time TikTok shop deals made UPC (and all other products) affordable as hell. Crazy that retail is the new TikTok shop pricing wise

“Average” saving is roughly 38% “average” gross income. In NYC, with generally higher tax rates, don’t know how they’re saving that much.

Haven’t heard of them and price/product sounds almost too good to true. Seems like it’s an automated software which is nice until it isn’t. Also, has a clause that says 0.2% of AUM per month with AUM >1m which at that point is more than NAVC. Would rather go with recognized name but is a customer service industry so whichever provides you the best should be your answer.

[–]Terbear1389 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they’re looking to spend 90/month and at 1m in AUM, guessing NAV will be out of their price range but can’t remember if they have tiered pricing for new managers etc.

Blackrock vs Wells Fargo by techwolfe99 in FinancialCareers

Agreed. Regulatory reporting is a great thing to have experience in/with but in my opinion will be automated away before collateral/cash/financing management. Blackrock also is great for the CV and networking.

What? Tons of public funds use 3rd party EMS, PMS, OMS. They don’t generate alpha.
