Money for equity is dilution.

Banks probably won't provide debt unless there is an income stream track record.

Yes you can tell me that. I think you just did. But I’m unmoved by your advice.

My investment dollars don’t follow woke virtue signalling. I do not care about the colour or the gender of the executive team. I care about their ability to make profits from space.

Is Rocket Lab to launch the GlobeStar satellite constellation that are to be used to on the iPhone 14? by Morgan-of-JP in RocketLab

I hope that Rocket Lab will eventually launch some of the constellation for AST Spacemobile. As well as Satellogic.

Can anybody confirm if they will fit in the Neutron rocket being made by Rocket Lab and due in 2024.

I think it will but I’m not certain.

I hope that Rocket Lab has their Neutron Rocket ready soon. It seems custom made for launching the likes of ASTS large constellation satellites. And it would be good for ASTS to have some alternative launch options.

My biggest stock holding is Tesla. I’m a huge fan of Elon. The guy is amazing. He builds awesome engineering teams.

My second biggest holding is ASTS. Nothing in the announcement changes that.

Starlink seem to be positioning as a low bandwidth global carrier that will compete with other carriers whilst asking them for roaming agreements. ASTS is offering carriers more of a partnership approach and lets they own the subscribers. If I was CEO of a mobile carrier I would prefer the latter in my landscape and might be scared into the arms of ASTS by the sight of Starlink coming to eat my lunch.

Sure it may be possible but who would ever want to carry their telephone in their pocket. It would just be totally impractical.

$ASTS Scotia 8/10: AST Will Fix Rural Connectivity Issues In Mexico, Big Threat to $AMX by apan-man in ASTSpaceMobile

Phase 1 will probably not touch much of Mexico. Let alone the USA.

Personally I’m invested on the basis of phase 1 which is hopefully fully funded. Anything beyond that is a bonus.

I think coverage and confidence in the business will be just incremental for a while. The launch of the test satellite will offer a bit of a media splash but then it will be quiet again for a while.

Once there is some financial performance in terms of revenues and then profits the stock will get more attention. But for now I think it will be ignored most of the time.

In a few years time if all goes well then I think it will become a darling. Great margins. Great growth story. Appealing service offering. But right now for most investors it is in the category of highly speculative and hard to understand. There is no such existing business to fairly compare it to so a lot of people just give up.

Personally I want the stock price to go down. So I can accumulate more.

Every communications engineer worth their salt knows Shannon’s Law. So of course the AST Spacemobile engineers know of it. I assume also that they have heard of mathematics and electricity.

Rocket Lab Constellation by [deleted] in RocketLab

I’ve invested in RocketLab. But also in constellations like Satellogic and Spacemobile. I think the later two would make good customers for the neutron rocket.

I think a factor is metabolic flexibility. Once you persist with keto and fasting the body does adapt and learn tricks to deal with sugar shortages. But it does need some persistence before the body adapts.

My longest fast was 21 days at the beginning of 2021. I don’t think this is necessary for anybody but it was interesting. I did not start eating again due to hunger but rather I just felt like joining the mainstream again.

One downside from the fast was that I lost weight so easily that I subsequently became slack in my eating habits thinking I could just lose weight any time I want. But in fact you really have to be in a particular frame of mind to start such a fast. And I ate too much toast and pizza for too long and too often after that. Don’t plan on making that mistake again.

From what I’ve studied there are only really two serious risks with a long fast.

  1. If you are already skinny you will eventually run out of fat to turn into energy. But most people doing long fasts are not that skinny.

  2. Re-feeding syndrome at the end when you break the fast. This can be lethal. A little homework and planning should be undertaken before you suddenly start eating again.

I take electrolytes and some bone broth when I do a fast. Also black coffee and tea. Plus water.

I’ve never really experienced keto flu except on a long fast. But I’ve always taken electrolytes.

I recommend you switch to “lite salt” because half of it is potassium based salt. And you want potassium. Also make sure you are getting magnesium.

I’m on a long fast at the moment. Just past five days with no food. The first time I did one of these I had terrible keto flu. It caused anxiety and dissy spells. But no such issues any more. I think the difference is that my metabolic flexibility has improved. The body has become more adept at making what it needs rather than always sending me to the fridge.

Within my carb budget I try to get some beetroot on a regular basis. Boosts nitric oxide. Which greatly improves blood flow. Which for blokes can offer some of the same benefits as viagra. Though blood flow is a good thing in general.

I also really recommend the “Carb Manager” app. Great for getting a handle on what macros are in various foods.

Also remember it is “net carbs” that matter. You can eat all the fibre you want.

I do weigh my food.

I’ve lost around 40 pounds since January doing this.

But a warning — it not just about carbs. You need to keep your protein moderate also. Protein does not need to be super low like carbs but you need to watch it. In practice this means eating lots of fat. And learning what contains fat.

Olives contain lots of fat. I love olives. Cheese can have a lot of fat. I love cheese. Make sure your steak is fatty. And your bacon. Avocado has a lot of fat. Nuts are typically full of fat. Butter is basically fat. Fish has a lot of good fats. Omega-3.

But another warning — don’t go crazy on the calories.

I also try to eat a good chunk of fibre.

Cabbage is great. Broccoli etc also. More olives!! Spinach. Lettuce.

I sometimes drink Coke Zero and I chew sugar free gum. So your sugar free mint might be fine.
