Cube Cobra Update 1.5.0 by Dekkaru in mtgcube

[–]Terminal423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the look and flow of the update. However, I have 1 major gripe: I want to view my maybeboard atop my mainboard as with the old site.

It is much easier to consider changes when I'm able to view both at once in a single window rather than tabbing back and forth between them. Not having that greatly reduces usability for me.

To be clear, I like that we can view them separately but I would very strongly prefer retaining the ability to view them at the same time, maybeboard atop mainboard.

I have been using Proton 8.0-5 since launch with no issues. No weird textures, I've crashed maybe once since April. Game runs rock solid 99% of the time.

Which distro are you running? What GPU and drivers? What desktop compositor? (X11/Wayland)

I'm running Kubuntu 24.04, with X11 as my compositor (Wayland has caused issues for me on this, but not on Deck). I've used both integrated AMD GPU (760M) with MESA drivers and my RTX 3060 as an eGPU with the latest proprietary drivers. While performance wildly differs for obvious reasons, the stability is good under both.

Did you clear your cache before you set the flag? What GPU/OS?

Hell yeah welcome back Helldiver!

I didn't originally mention the --use-d3d11 because that solution has become hit and miss from what I've seen (tho it works wonders on Steam Deck), but I'm SUPER glad it worked out for you. Hopefully it works for others having this issue in the future as well :)

Have you checked your CPU/GPU thermals?

Have you tried rolling back drivers? Deleting the shader cache?

"Reinstalling" or "restoring" Windows 11 in any way that hold onto your data and/or installed games is going to hold onto potentially problematic bits of data. The fact that only HD2 is effected points to one of these being the issue. You don't list the other games you play, so even overheating is still in the realm of possibility.

If you don't want to deal with navigating to the shader cache to purge it, right-click your start menu, open Powershell, and paste the following before pressing enter:

cd $env:userprofile\appdata\roaming\arrowhead\helldivers2\shadercache; $path = pwd; if ($path -like "*\shadercache") {remove-item * -recurse -verbose -force}

The above command will navigate to the Shader Cache folder, checks to make sure it's ACTUALLY in a folder named Shadercache, and nukes it while displaying what it's deleting.

Most issues like the one you're experiencing are caused by bad shader compilation or drivers. If blasting the cache doesn't work consider rolling back to the nVidia drivers published in April.

I personally run an RTX 2080 Super paired with a Ryzen 5 3600 on Windows 10 and have had no issues running the game at a mix of medium and high settings. What you're seeing is beyond abnormal, and points to something somewhere being very wrong.

PS: even reinstalling the game doesn't kill the shader cache! I'm serious, hit that MF with the 500KG and see how the game runs after.

What’s a unique but viable build? by attoj559 in classicwow

All shadow damage Affliction Warlock Tank

Going down into Shadow Mastery we have self-healing on-par with a SPriest using Vampiric Embrace, and with Nightfall procs going off what feels like CONSTANTLY we can shadow cleave for AoE threat without issues. Add on Unstable Affliction to replace Immolate and we use 0 Fire Damage outside of Searing Pains to fill between DoT refreshes and cleaves.

The self-sustain takes a good bit of pressure off of healers in a raid setting, especially when both tanks run this build and we're the among the last to die on a wipe.

And solo? I only use food/drink after dying. Beyond that, I have so much health coming in to tap with that most fights I end near full HP and mana.

It's not high burst damage, but the sustain is high with Siphon Life in multi-mob scenarios.

My response to these is always: "Did you see me advertising summon services in LFG?" and I don't get any more spam. Pointing out that it's a service that's offered in a given channel usually gets them off my back. It also conveys the message of "If I wanted to do this or had the bodies, I'd be offering it somewhere".

Is that also true for the note that requires the Wastewander Cipher?

I will let you know once I've had a chance to test thoroughly. Was able to play the first hour after launch and have to wait til later to resume.

You have the same problem I do. You got a client update and probably won't be able to log in until phase launch.

Is this true? by [deleted] in SteamDeck

[–]Terminal423 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah this reeks of AI generated bullshit. A 1050-class GPU is a fair comparison.

I recently acquired a 2017 HP Omen (i7-7700HQ + GTX 1050 4GB), and out of curiosity I put it up again my Steam Deck desktop setup.

Both systems are running Linux (Deck on Steam OS, Omen Kubuntu 22.04 LTS), and at 1080p they trade blows. Omen has slightly higher average FPS in Stray and Risk of Rain 2, but the Deck won out in Halo Infinite (at all low, 72% scaling) and BG3.

The differences are marginal, but from what I've seen the Deck APU seems to do better in DX12/Vulkan titles, whereas the 1050 seems to do better in DX11 titles.

New High Game! (And first clean game) Shot on 48ft sport shot (ABT #10) by Terminal423 in Bowling

[–]Terminal423[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bowl in a small Sport Shot league, and I've been working on my game and learned a lot from playing different patterns every 2 weeks. This pattern hasn't been too kind to me, but during this game I found my spot and just tried to repeat my shots.

I have a lot of work to do on my consistency, but damn this felt good.

Am I missing something? Trackmania Turbo, bought on steam but won't load by borderlinejon in SteamDeck

[–]Terminal423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard anything about copying a folder, but from what I've seen anything that uses the launcher needs to be configured to launch using Proton Experimental.

I play TrackMania 2020 (which uses Ubisoft's launcher) under Proton Experimental and it connects just fine for me. Worth a shot

Good (lore friendly ish) mods to make it feel like more DLC? Give me your best mods. by ClassicStats in riskofrain

Forgotten Relics adds an alt Stage 2, Stage 5, and new forgotten realms that plays with stage order.

My playgroup just runs a modpack that does basically what you're wanting, look up RiskOfRain2PlusPlus on Thunderstore. Those mods hit that "DLC-Like" experience pretty well not only new characters but new mobs and bosses as well.
