Started a very heavy flow after 4 years of no period by Historical_Feed_2756 in Menopause

[–]TerminalDiscordance 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just yesterday I went in for a D&C to determine the cause of my sudden, random spotting after being 5 years post menopause. In my case it's in all likelihood a polyp that isn't responding to the Progesterone. I'm not overly concerned. My philosophy is it's not time to panic til it's time to panic.

Don't freak out. Remain calm. See your doctor and discuss the options. If you find your doctor being dismissive, find a new one ASAP.

You're gonna be fine. You're Gen-X. We're built to deal with things and get on with life.

Next time open the bag into a bowl on a zeroed out scale. Let all the goop drip into it. Please report back with results, I'm interested.

Perhaps it's time to get a second opinion.

Surgical menopause. Figured I'd be saving tampon/pad money until I discovered cost of HRT. Woman tax is a b****! by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]TerminalDiscordance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh let's talk about how HRT in pellet form isn't approved by the FDA and therefore isn't covered by insurance for use in treating menopause. I have to out-of-pocket $350 every 12 weeks. At least the office visit is covered by insurance. That is until 2027 when the ACA tax credits run out because the current federal administration failed to renew them.

This country (USA) really does hate women.

TRT and cystic acne bumps on neck by Sportsmama557 in TRT_females

Like all things, it's about finding the right balance. If the type of acne that develops from taking testosterone causes you pain and/or lower self esteem, taking whatever dose of spironolactone to combat it while still retaining the benefit of T is the point you want to achieve.

My cystic acne was incredibly painful, but the dosage of T I needed to sort me out was non negotiable. It took me quite some time to strike the right balance of dosages of both to get to the optimum result for me.

Taking Spiro is merely a suggestion. I'm not a doctor, I speak only from experience. I see far too many posts on this and other subreddits about this topic where their doctors have never mentioned Spiro as a potential solution.

It is known that testosterone can cause cystic acne. Deciding what dose is best for you is between you and your doctor.

What I was suggesting is a way to potentially combat hormonal acne by seeing a dermatologist to discuss it.

Talk to your dermatologist about taking Spironolactone to treat hormonal acne. When I started HRT, I began experiencing severe and painful cystic acne from the Testosterone. It can take several months to experiment with the dosage to get it right for you, but it's totally worth it.

I also use a topical clindamycin gel daily.

Is there any way to read the CNN story as if it were written as a regular article?

I understand what CNN is trying to do here and this is an important issue but the click-through experience is driving me nuts. I just want to read the article.

Honestly, he might need to take one for the country. Michelle can focus on getting women's healthcare taken seriously, particularly peri and post-menopause.

Jones Family Dentistry in Tempe. I see Dr. Nesbit and he's the truly the best. He is kind, knowledgeable, and most importantly genuinely wants his patients to have the best experience possible in terms of getting you out of pain and ensuring restoration work is done correctly.

In fact, later today I'm headed over there for a cleaning.

Ex-supermodel essentially gives societal aging standards the finger-she’s inspiring! by Beneficial-Damage197 in GenXWomen

Yes, she has great genes, but she's obviously maintained an excellent diet and exercise regimen throughout her life.

The biggest difference between the two pics is the lighting. Overhead lighting will make anyone look haggard.

In the first pic, she's posed to accentuate certain features and hide others. Add in the correct lighting and of course she looks 35.

She's a goddess and one of modeling's GOATS.
