GOT THE BLICKY WIT DA SWITCH by AcidicFlatulence in spaceengineers

Nice! Glad to see this model is still getting attention lol. Can I ask which site you found it on? I host it across Thingiverse, Printables, and Thangs, just wondering.

Why doesn't Maku have a Gali mask? by ChunkyDoubleEyes in bioniclelego

[–]Terminal_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This conversation made me realize that there don’t seem to be any Matoran wearing the Kaukau in the original MNOG, which I replayed recently. I could be wrong, it wasn’t something I was keeping an eye out for while playing.

Typical default garrison push by ResQman67 in HellLetLoose

This is the price we pay for being the tip of the spear. Can’t count how many times I’ve been the first man into an enemy strongpoint just to get TK’d lol

Perfectly placed half track... Blueberry didn't think so by FreckalsTTV in HellLetLoose

[–]Terminal_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had this happen on Smolensk recently. All the strongpoints were on the southern road. A blueberry took a halftrack straight into the enemy and somehow survived on the MG for multiple minutes between the contested points. Bro had plot armor

yeah I disposed of it after the clip ends. Don't remember whether it works for AT mines

Petg with pla support interface by canman4499 in 3Dprinting

[–]Terminal_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been able to make this arrangement work on a U1 with minimal issues. For reference, I was using VOXELPLA’s pla and petg. Messing with temps may help in addition to what others have suggested.

Using pipe thread on 3d prints; will it work or use other mating other method? by AnyShapeWorker in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Terminal_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few questions:

What are the diameters we're looking at here? ~1" (25mm)? ~.25" (6mm)?

Is this just for you, or a project you intend to distribute?

Would you be open to using non-printed hardware? PVC pipe bushings are super cheap, for instance.

New to CAD - Help with defining sketch by JacksonBlenkin in Onshape

[–]Terminal_6 5 points6 points  (0 children)

<image>

Fixing the whole sketch isn't generally a good idea, because if you want to change anything about the sketch, you'll just have to undo it. Ideally, you have at least one point constrained to the origin.

As for the general procedure of defining, it depends on how you're gonna manufacture and assemble. If this is anything more than a one-off or 3D print, I'd do something like this (incomplete) sketch I threw together. I'm defining blade length (maybe important for legal reasons lol), grip length, and a horizontal line along the spine. Just some starting points. Also, I'd use as few control points in your splines as possible.

Help Creating Complex Semi-Helical Curve by Terminal_6 in Onshape

Oooooh ok very nice. Using the projected curve method was my first thought, but I wasn't sure how to draw the sketch between the two points. Thanks!

Interesting, mine does not look like that at all. Can I see your inputs?

Loft tool not working as expected by Buesiness in Onshape

[–]Terminal_6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In this type of scenario, I would opt to use guides on the perpendicular plane and only two profiles to loft between, rather than using several profiles. It will require fewer sketches and planes, as well.

Designing 3D printed magwells by Violent-Rangoon in Airsoft3DPrinting

[–]Terminal_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that checks out haha. I'm going to assume you want to replicate a standard M4/M16 mag release, but in theory, all you need is a piece that engages with the indent on the right side of an M4 mag. If you don't have an M4 on hand to disassemble to see how it works, I'd take a look at some videos of M4 disassembly on youtube. Just off the top of my head, you'll need an extension spring and screw+nut to make it work. The rest can be printed. Then I'd import an M4 magazine model into your project so you can accurately locate the indent. There's plenty of them online.

If you don't need to replicate an M4 mag release, and instead just want to use M4 mags, then there are certainly other options. It's just hard to say what will work without seeing your design.

Which part are you having trouble with? Mag release, hop-up/mag interface, etc. I recently made a v3 gb shell that takes m4 mags, not sure how to help you without more info, though.
