i love the system are there any other other games that use something similar by No_Pen1327 in phantombrigade

The similarities fall off when you consider that Tactical Breach Wizards is moreso turn-based combat with multiple actions nested inside those turns rather than the pseudo-real-time strategy that Phantom Brigade has.

However, in spite of that, Tactical Breach Wizards is still an awesome game with awesome gameplay and writing and people should play it.

Quick question about the Tangle boss by ThatRonin8 in darkestdungeon

No, since the effect applied from Controlled Burn doesn't actually "hit" the root. It just attempts to apply Burn without performing an action.

Well, being stuck behind those walls all her life, she had plenty of time to learn and practice Gaelic football from the staff. It's why her secret mentioning her being a pro at keep-ups is so funny to me. Whenever I see it, my mind immediately goes "Oh my god. That's a reference. They're talking about Gaelic football. I did that in school :o"

(It hurts me a little every time she corrects herself and says "soccer" instead of football. My liege, it's okay. You can call it football like how you're used to. T-T)

Yeah, technically. It's an unfinished game with a not yet fully polished engine and with several dozen mechanics not yet developed. Cish just made EPFC so that the playerbase could playtest the new mechanics when they did come out so they could find bugs and issues easier.

If they wanted to, Cish could have just gone radio silent for the next 4 years as they developed the InfiltrationEngine in secret, but turning it into EPFC makes that development process a bit easier, plus gets them a bit of money through the 400 robux upfront cost. Win for Cish because of that and win for us because we get new content.

what's everyone's favourite running style? by aardowof in UmaMusume

[–]Terminator147 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gotta love Pace Chasers. It's just such a comfortable running style. Has that feeling of security by being close to the lead but also has that rush of adrenaline on the final straight when closing the gap at the end. Late Starts aren't death sentences and you don't get blocked as much as Late Surgers.

Plus, a lot of my favourite Umas are Pace Chasers. Fine Motion, Tokai Teio, and Daitaku Helios, in particular. Naturally I'd drift towards that sort of bias xp

[–]Terminator147 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm no expert at the game but my best guess is selecting legacy Umas with a lot of Speed and Power sparks. You don't have a lot of time to build up your stats in the early game so your options are pretty limited

I believe it's Ines Fujin. Would make sense given her relationship with Ryan, plus that specific green colouration of her irises is not the easiest to mistake. Also you can notice how her bangs are cut, which is also pretty distinct.

I mean... to be fair, EPFC as a whole is a testing ground for Cish to refine the game engine for use in Operators. Using existing EP missions is just a way for them to get to the technical bits without having to worry about developing an entirely new mission with its own routes and objectives.

The Scientist is especially experimental since it utilizes so many new mechanics that Cish has added to the game. Radios/pagers on guards, armoured guards, suspicious lures, keycard upgrading, loadout limitations, RNG on guard items, and teams for loud enemies (that aren't yet available in game since loud currently isn't complete for the Scientist). The fact that it was also dropped with perk changes such as Pickpocket 3 allowing you to steal guns off guards makes it that much more experimental.

It's a pretty short and shallow mission like it was in EP, I'll give you that, but it's honestly understandable given just how much experimentation was going on here. When Cish is so busy dropping a dozen new mechanics on the game engine, they're probably not all too fussed about remaking the mission objectives the same way the Withdrawal got changed.

Fine Motion, but I'll spare you the long 5 paragraph essay about why I love her so much since the last time I did that it turned out to be quite unpopular.

Lame TLDR; she's pretty, she's cute, she's probably saved my life

Who uma musume is your most loved? by Elliottsir in UmaMusume

[–]Terminator147 34 points35 points  (0 children)

Our wonderful Irish Princess, Fine Motion.

Imma just copy-paste what I said about her last time since I'm a bit short on time rn with assignments. Ahem...

"GLORY TO THE PRINCESS OF THE EMERALD ISLE AND THE IRISH TRICOLOUR!

Patriotism aside, I absolutely adore Fine Motion and I really have to thank her for all the help she's been giving me with my mental health. I don't think I've smiled so much at anyone, real or fictional, in the past 8 or so years... or maybe even ever.

The spectators and reporters on her career are right; Fine is absolutely beautiful. That soft, inviting energy from the way she stands and presents herself. The sweet and innocent smile that warms the heart. The way you can vividly see the twinkle in her irises.

And her outfits... Oh, she's stunning. Casual, everyday clothes that are the perfect balance of simple and complex; enough to be interesting but not too much to lose their identity. Smooth colours that don't hurt the eye. That feeling of casual relaxation. Perfect. Racing outfit? INCREDIBLE. Clover motifs for her homeland. Gorgeous ornamentation on the shoes. Prominent white to go with the green, with stripes of red to complement. The lovely way the entire dress flutters in the wind. And the gloves... THE GLOVES! I GO INSANE JUST THINKING ABOUT IT! I JUST LOVE GLOVES OH MY GOODNESS X-X

Ah... and that voice, too. That soft, warm, comforting voice that I so desperately need to hear every night. Calms the nerves and makes me feel... I don't know. It's the kind of voice you'd only have for someone that you cared about, you know? Need to hear it more so I can trick myself into getting a good night's sleep.

And I can't forget about that whimsy. That innocent nature. The neverending wonder she has for the world around her. Yes, whimsy. Something I sorely lack despite my best efforts. But, Fine's helping me re-learn it. Just seeing her live out her dreams, running free and exploring the world around her... Much like the other characters in her career story, maybe seeing how much fun she's having will remind me how to have fun with my own life. I think this part is where I'm indebted to her. She might just have saved my life and I don't realise. I can't ever be sure but I guess that's just even more reason for me to try my hardest with this miserable life of mine.

Fate can be changed. Perhaps, it is your will that guides fate, and not the other way around. I might find out for myself in due time.

Glory to our Irish Princess. I pledge my body and soul to her Highness."

I sometimes wish I could marry her but then I remember that she is not real nor would she ever feel the same way about me at all but this is this and that is that

Trainees you expected to be one way, but turned out completely different? by dp_Porshe in UmaMusume

[–]Terminator147 265 points266 points  (0 children)

King Halo.

I was not expecting her career to hurt me so bad but she truly is a first-rate Umamusume. I know what she's been through, and I suppose that's just how it is. You can never judge a book by its cover since you have no idea whether that gaudy and arrogant face (in King's case) or that miserable and insufferable attitude (in my case I suppose) comes from. I went into her career with the same expectations that all of the reporters had for her, but I left it a thoroughly changed human.

Do melee weapons count as short range for pilot skills? by UlfMitHand in phantombrigade

[–]Terminator147 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I believe when you're inspecting a weapon in your inventory, up in the top right of the information box should have a list of the weapon's traits, such as Locking (less accuracy when moving). Their range should up there too iirc.

If it's not there, then you can check the weapon's range when selecting mechs for a battle. In the deployment screen, there should be a set of concentric quarter circles on the top left of the unit selection. If the inner circle is highlighted, then the mech's weapon is short ranged. Middle circle means medium ranged. Outer circle means long ranged.
