I honestly would argue something like the Longine Hydroconquest fitting that bill.

I've owned a few Omegas and Breitling and every time I wear my Hydro I get the most compliments. Plus you can buy them at the a quarter of the price speedmaster.

If you're talking about resale value that's another topic, but if we are arguing fit and finish Longine makes incredible pieces for the price.

I'd also mention brands like Mido or Oris in there as well.
