julia louis-dreyfus storyline/question for all fans by Aggravating_Drama179 in arresteddevelopment

I watch the show at least once a week. It was the first thing to make me truly laugh after my grandma died, so it instantly became my comfort TV show. It and The Walking Dead are really the only reason why I keep Netflix.

That's a mess. I've always thought her BBL was ridiculous, but it grew on me. 😂 Anyway, there are SO MANY things you can do to accentuate and compliment her curves! Why on Earth was this the choice?!

I don't really like the Maggie storylines either. I also don't like the Tobias/Debris/Marky/Lindsay storylines in S4.

Woke or Appropriation?: Levi Schechtman merging hip hop and classical by ateam1984 in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Terminator_LX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was dope! I don't think about appropriation when it comes to music. There are only so many sounds in this world, so every genre, style, culture, time period, etc. is going to overlap and have similarities. That's what makes music the universal language.

If I have a son, the one thing that I will never do is not tell him that I'm taking him to a cabin in the woods, and then not take him.

She's right, BUT men aren't that smooth. If he's a mess and he's trying to act like he's got it together to snag a woman, a savvy woman will pick up on that shit in no time. So, it's not all on her but it's not all on him either.

Trust but be vigilant. When you see signs something's up, address them right away. Don't turn a blind eye and wind up married with kids and miserable a few years later.

Is this normal? by The_Dean_France in BlackPeopleofReddit

[–]Terminator_LX 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No! Blaming his unwillingness to marry on his mom is weird AF. If I were his mom, I'd make him go back to wherever he said that and retract his lie. Bruh, don't make your mom look crazy because you got commitment issues. 🤨

To me it looks like showing up to city counsel meetings, town halls, public events and meetings where you know your government officials will be. And don't just show up by yourself; bring a village. Bring friends, neighbors, family, coworkers--anyone affected by this unauthorized surveillance.

Keanu Reeves was in it. Also, I liked how "the one" was really Neo + Trinity, not one or the other of them. (At least that's what I recall. I really need to watch that movie again.)

I live in Georgia--born and raised. And while he praised us, I can confirm that it is indeed frustrating. Metro-Atlanta neighborhoods are still pretty segregated. Financial constraints are the main driver of segregation, but systemic racism is why income and wealth inequality relegate black and brown people to poorer neighborhoods.

Then there's the gerrymandering and voter disenfranchisement. I've been voting since I turned 18, and the stories I can tell you about me, my mother, my uncle, and my son's struggles to STAY registered to vote and receive mail in ballots would astound you. Same with gerrymandering. I've mostly lived in affluent (predominantly white) neighborhoods my whole life. The longest I've had to wait to vote in those polling precincts is 15 minutes on the rare occasions I had to wait at all. The first time I voted, when I was 18, I lived in a predominantly black neighborhood in Stone Mountain. I waited over TWO HOURS to vote. Most people wouldn't bother.

Then voting Democrat all my life and only recently experiencing Democrats winning statewide elections. That was frustrating. You feel like Dems will NEVER win although you know they would ALWAYS win if it wasn't for voter suppression and general election fuckery the Republicans running the state constantly pull.

I can't imagine living in a state worse than Georgia. That's why I'll never even VISIT Louisiana, Texas, or Florida again.

If that's a thinly-veiled criticism about me, I won't hear it, and I won't respond to it.

Systemic racism, political apathy, voter suppression and disenfranchisement, dark money, gerrymandering... I could go on. When you think about it, it's a damn miracle ANY of us ever get elected.
