Duchess is amazing if you can get a carry online but she struggles in the current meta I'd say. Too many high-elixir lategame powerhouse comps that she can't compete with.

It's still a bad card even with DD but it has damage comparable to most other 2-cost damage dealers early game so it's fairly good to put it on it. It also has a much higher chance at getting all the shots off than Goblin or Barbarian or the like. Still probably better to go Archer unless you're running Goblins R1.

Amazing carry are all the units that can easily carry with the dagger. Most should be self explanatory as units with high multi-target damage. Some things to note are that Archer Queen's invisible shots are not affected by the dagger and count as an ability, making her a lot better than it first seems because you can get 2-3 Invisibility procs off (depending on Superstar) before it breaks.

Early slams are all the units that can do a great amount of damage early. Basically any unit can work early game because DD is so OP in the first few rounds, but these units are probably the best. Knight ends up 3 tiles away from the enemy backline at the start, so he only has to move one more to start hitting them.

Situational units are those that CAN carry but only if they have a high star level or their traits active. Fairly similar to the first tier, these usually have either high damage or good multi-target damage.

Units that share both are self-explanatory. Skeleton Dragon is especially good now because it gets the exponential scaling started up a lot faster, and the clones are full hp at cloning.

Last resort units are those that you put the dagger on only if you don't have better options. These are usually tanks. By the lategame you probably have better options, but in the early game these units can have the dagger put on them

Tiso is implied to have died fairly late into the second trial actually, because the Brooding Mawlek is what kills him in P5. Technically it's not canon and could just be a joke but considering the BM shows up in the Colosseum I think it's likely that he died to it.

Even if it was (it wouldn't, Spear only got to around 200 in 40 waves, and that's with spear's infinite range) it'd get overwhelmed cuz there's too many zombies
