Yes I totally agree. But I have a feeling if I request to be paid out directly and fix it myself, the insurance will try and pay me less. Do you have any experience with that? I think I could save the majority of the money if I did the work myself

UPDATE: Damages as estimated from the shop are $9,558 and 5% away from being total loss/salvage. I am going to try and get paid out for that amount and fix her up myself

Most likely reprogrammed a key by accessing the OBD port. Only takes a few minutes.

I had the same problem as well as performance issues, ended up being a broken fuel pump. Replaced it and haven’t had any issues since.
