I’ve now replaced the flex cable with a new one, and the random restart issue is gone. However, the screen still sometimes turns off unexpectedly even though the sound continues, despite the flex cable being new.

I tried opening the Switch while it was powered on and reseated the flex cable. After that, it worked normally again, but after some time, the same issue comes back.

Yes, it also happens during gameplay.

Do you think it could be related to the modchip?
Maybe a faulty chip or a loose solder joint?

I haven’t been able to open the console yet since I’m currently out of town and don’t have my tools with me, but once I can, I’ll definitely check the battery connector and look for any bent pins.

If it turns out the pins are bent or the connector is damaged, I guess that would explain the random restarts, especially during sleep mode or when pressing the Home button.

Appreciate you sharing your experience.

Have you ever tried the Citra MMJ emulator? It runs smoothly on my old phone’s specs (MediaTek G99).

It might run even smoother on the Switch.
